The photo heard around Canada: a simple photo of Gretzky with Trump has so many Canadians going insane on social media. This is how far we have gone.

Repeatedly on social media Canadians are attacking Wayne. Denouncing him, telling his supporters to F off, on and on.

This is akin to the covid vaccine. We had people here wishing death upon those who didn't get vaxxed, I'm not lying, these people are batshyte crazy.

This is how a covert police state works. You are owned by the state and better not deviate from the program, or else!

We don't own Wayne Gretzky. It's easy for these abusers to own someone like me who can't leave, but Wayne is an American now for all intents and purposes and so are his kids. He is free. He played hockey, he's not responsible for poor management in Canada, especially in Ontario, going back decades.

Simply put, (many) Canadians have lost their minds.

It started when President Trump made a joke about making Canada the "fifty-first State" in order to mock the then-Canadian Prime Minister.

Canadians with three-digit IQ's understood that Trump is a jerk, and it was only a joke. The LAST thing any American Republican wants to bring in a new State, larger than California and mainly populated with Leftists. It would mean the end of the Republican Party in the U.S.

Trump's joke literally changed the political landscape in Canada over night. That fellow Pete Poillievre was poised to become the next Prime Minister and he didn't even retain his own seat in the next election!

Trump has also said to "Canada" and to the rest of the world that his policies were based on an "America first" philosophy, and he expected other countries (e.g., Canada) to act in THEIR OWN best interests as well. He said that virtually everything we purchase from Canada could be produced in the U.S. or acquired from some other source, so Canada is not in the strongest bargaining position vis a vis the U.S. These are facts.

So (many) Canadians have lost their minds. They won't fly to Florida any more, or vacation anywhere in the U.S. during Winter. They won't buy American stuff. They won't watch American television or go to American movies.

Who is suffering from these decisions? Not the U.S.

Where does Wayne Gretzky live? I thought it was in California. Maybe I'm wrong.

He's an American now. He did his best to represent Canada but there is no way he recognizes Canada today, especially in regards to liberty, free speech and the like.

Do you know how many libertarians wishes they lived in America? Canada is in a perilous position and Trump understands this which is why Mexico is a bigger trade with the U.S than Canada is today. Our governments didn't lead the nation, they used covert police to essentially occupy citizens in their communities, from their birth. Akin to a caste system and if you arent born with a silver spoon, no amount of talent will help you.

Elon Musk went to Queens University in Ontario. Imagine if he had stayed in Canada? He'd be moving boxes in some warehouse while a cops son would be his manager.

Wow ... is it really that easy to troll an entire nation? ... too funny ... I love the Great One so much I want to have his baby, but that doesn't mean he ran the Arizona Coyotes any better than Trump runs the USA ... any hockey fan would know that ... and now the 'Yotes are defunct ... [giggle] ... like 'Merica ...

They are mentally ill people...what do you expect.
Americans are quite similar. You also have some traitors who help Canadian authorities destroy the lives of Canadians here. When you have U.S citizens helping the Creepy Ones, they are in many ways WORSE, despicable really.

On the plus side, Wayne Gretzky, if he were elected Prime Minister of Canada could not possibly do worse than P. M. Justin Trudeau did?

If Wayne Gretzky plays his cards well he might just assist in setting in motion the biggest surge in Wall Street and in the TSE that has been seen in a decade or more?

Trump was partially trolling, I think he was flying a trial balloon. "What would Canadians think of this prospect"? Canada is concerned that there will exist a concerted.and persistent policy agenda by American governments to pursue this eventuality,.similar to the E.U. I suspect that some probably want to discourage Canadians from visiting the U.S out of fear of something, what that "something" is, covers a lengthy list of possibilities but Canadian authorities are not confident that traditional P.R.campaigns can persuade a new generation that wants to fly.

That's why a world leader should have a little maturity to understand that in his position, people from around the world pay attention to his every word because any misunderstanding could have global effect. The position calls for maturity that trump lacks. He shouldn't be spouting childish crap.

Trump trolling--agreed. Fact of the matter is, most Americans don't want a mass influx of Canadian liberals on our voter rolls.

We aren't all liberals here, some of us like myself are apolitical, more libertarian and policy-by-policy types. Canada is basically 50% conservative, the problem is, our conservatism is creepier than U.S conservatism. We dont have libertarians, we have power hungry, police-state purveyors.

Sure seems to be an over abundance of corrupt liberals running the country. We already have to deal with that---don't need any more help from more liberals.

Perhaps you should re-read what I posted:

This is the entire countries vote as a percentage in 2025 election and consider that most large cities are heavily liberal voters.

Liberals 43.76% Conservatives 41.31%

Also, some media have the Cons ahead right now with Carney losing some support due to the economic woes everyone is feeling.

The issue is media. Canadian media has little balance and any "conservative" media are basically "police-state patsies". Few are interested in a massive, continued bloating of the police state.

America is going to remain the free nation. Will you win against China? That is the struggle of our time.

Perhaps you should re-read what I posted:
Perhaps you should get out of your own head and reread my post #15. We don't need anymore liberals. Your post supports what I stated. Your representation bears out the 43% plurality of liberals and has done so for as long as I can remember--often spilling over into our country. Examples -- Draft dodger amnesty and Charles Ng.

I am of the belief that something truly valuable for all of us will emerge out of Wayne Gretzky being asked to research becoming Prime Minister of Canada!

In a way "Hockey Stick Shaped Graphs" have been used by some less than totally intellectually honest people to make the history of Canada and the USA a lot worse than it needed to be.
