The Met have this “Islamic amulet” as part of their collection:
Except it is neither. It is the head part of phylacteries (tefillin shel rosh), a very holy article in Judaism.
I am just surprised this did not end up in the Palestinian Museum. They love co-opting other people’s everything, after all.

Q. Just curious, does anyone know the name of the manager responsible for that section in the Met?
