This special election in north Texas is bad, bad news for MAGA Republican candidates in this year's midterm elections. In fact it signals very bad news for Republicans all around. It can't be dismissed as an outlier or just a freak anomaly.
It's more like the proverbial writing on the wall. Voters are sick and tired of Trump's policies and the radical MAGA Project 2025 agenda and they are making it known.
The constant delusional gaslighting isn't working anymore.
DOGE was a sick joke and nobody even knows where all the money from the supposed DOGE "cuts" even wound up.
Trumpflation still sucks.
Trump's insane tariffs are wrecking our economy and putting American farmers out of business.
Trump has unleashed a reign of gestapo terror on American cities and the optics aren't good.
Trump has lost the respect of our world allies and the entire world is now laughing at him (and us), but more important our previous allies are now turning to China for an alliance and weakening our standing (and safety) in the world.
And the list goes on and on...from his ridiculous destruction of The White house to his destruction of The Kennedy Center to his molestation of children documented in the Epstein files to his lunatic, advanced dementia ranting and ravings....
He stands before us day after day and tries to continue gaslighting us into not believing our own eyes and ears and tells us to believe his insane fantasies instead.
It is not "TDS" anymore to point this out either.
The only "TDS" is being so DEVOTED to Trump that you are still unable to admit what is blatantly obvious.
That is the only real "syndrome," still being stuck in the cult of worship for this man.
At any rate, Texas voters get it. Trump's endorsed candidate got trounced on Saturday, as will every single Republican who doesn't break ranks and start going on record standing up to him within the next 9 months.
After next November Trump's reign of terror will be effectively over. Then the new Democrat majority in Congress can begin the process of holding this criminal administration accountable.
IF we still have a republic at that point.

The problem for Republicans? This Texas result is far from an outlier. As G. Elliott Morris notes, Rehmet’s win is the eighth state legislative seat that Democrats have flipped from Republican control since Trump was elected in November 2024. In that same period, Republicans have flipped a total of 0 Democratic seats.

The average Democratic over-performance in special elections at the state legislative and congressional level since Trump won a second term is now north of 13 points.

All of which means you simply can’t ignore the Texas result as an outlier or an anomaly.

Don’t believe me? How about Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis. While noting that special elections are “quirky,” DeSantis tweeted Sunday that “a swing of this magnitude is not something that can be dismissed.”

Are you referring to that Texas senator who won't even cast a single ballot while in office?

Texas will get back to sanity, I don't fear that at all.

When the economy starts hitting on all cylinders, and peoples economic outlook is very bright, todays "oh no, what are we going to do?', will fade to memory.

seriously?

how many threads do we need on this?

FYI, they use the term "TDS" as a public service, to alert us that we're dealing with a cult member.

He and they want to believe that his childish behavior, the horrible way he treats people everywhere, his sociopathic/transactional worldview, his non-stop chaos and his profound neediness won't apply to the upcoming elections. There's no way to know for sure, but I'd sure like to see that Americans are better than what we have shown for the past ten years.

Only 15K voted in the special election. The seat will be held and the holder won't even get a vote before next election.

Still and all it was a pitiful showing by the gop voters, that can't be deigned.
The GOP is doing what they always do.

Take it for granted.

Get the **** out there, Conservatives, or your country is going to be stolen from you, and it will be YOUR fault for not getting out there and voting.
