Go figure this one.

$30 minimum wage for hotels over 60 rooms and anyone doing business with the airport.

$17.85 for everyone else.

Can anyone figure this out?

It's affiliated with the "hive mentality".

The price of relaxing and traveling, vacations, entertainment has spiked up a lot in the last 4 years. It was high before that in many ways.

When government sets wage and employment rules it defeats the free market and capitalism

"To become law, the City Council needs to pass this again in a second vote on May 23."

Maybe they'll come to their senses next week. And no, I am not in the market for a bridge so don't ask.

"Local politicians can raise the minimum, but they can’t outlaw unintended consequences. And sooner or later, those consequences have a way of reminding us that reality isn’t optional, not even in L.A. But it could be worse for the industry. The City Council could bring back the proposal that every hotel in the city be required to house the homeless."

You can't fix stupid.

We do need big wage increases across the nation to happen quickly, but mandating them wont work.

A MINIMUM sized but EFFICIENT/STREAMLINED g'ment would certainly help big time in taming the dreaded INFLATION TAX(debt $pending). The lefts bought & paid district court puppets, RINO justices included, are a case in point like all OBSRUCTION from the district court justices towards eliminating inflation. If congress had the balls they'd defund the feds district court system($ave us a fortune!) but with elected officials like "Mike I Don't Want To Rock The Boat Johnson" @ the helm, the inflation will be here to stay. We need to eliminate inflation NOT raise the wages/salaries.

When the vast majority of people get a nice big raise it's awful right? Unreal.

the Los Angeles city council is nuts

The highest paid city council members on the planet at $218K plus base salary, plus car, meals, travel expenses, and more than generous pension plan to attend three meetings a week.

We should ALL be that crazy!
