The level of panic over Trump and Elon shutting down USAID is unlike anything he’s ever seen.

I do see the prevailing opinion in Washington seems to be more focused on keeping jobs than to provide value for expenditures. Maybe that's why so many on the left think businesses exist to provide jobs, not make money.
And it’s exacerbated by the left’s disdain for successful businesses owners.

It can't be unless Congress does it, you don't understand how things work.

Congress gives them money and then USAID decides where to spend it.
That's easy, keep giving them money, they just won't spend it anymore.

USAID is not shut down

"Talked to a friend who has connections within the Democratic Party and he said the level of panic over Trump and Elon shutting down USAID is unlike anything he’s ever seen.

By following the money DOGE has struck a killing blow to the heart of the Democrat deep state machine.
Direct quote: “This is worse than 9/11 for Democrats. USAID is the primary vessel they use to achieve their political agenda. USAID is and always has been the primary source of funding for their influence peddling schemes and for their indirect sources of income”
Another text “Based on the reactions from within the party it seems to me that dismantling USAID is Trump’s biggest political victory to date, it was his enemy’s golden goose”

They sound like devils on Judgement Day. :laughing0301:

The next four twelve years will be glorious.
You know it's a great thing when it invites this much of a reaction from Democrats.

In four years democrats will be attacking their neighbors with meat cleavers.

The range of activities it undertakes is vast. For example, not only does USAID provide food in countries where people are starving, it also operates the world's gold-standard famine detection system, which uses data analysis to try to predict where food shortages are emerging.

Much of USAID's budget is spent on health programmes, such as offering polio vaccinations in countries where the disease still circulates and helping to stop the spread of viruses which have the potential to cause a pandemic.

Imagine that
Trump is killing a program that provides famine relief, healthcare, polio vaccines to save lives
And why should the USA do any of those things? Let other countries take care of their citizens.

Golly gee
I'm shocked I tell you shocked

No wonder he was screaming like a b**** about Elon
I remember telling this forum I'm libertarian (small l) with no allegiance to either major party

I also remember telling this forum that both parties are nothing more than gigantic money laundering machines.

So now we see the truth. On the D side Politico can no longer pay its employees because it didn't get its monthly USAID check (4.1 million a year). Chelsea Clinton is out 4.7 million a year

On the R side, Sen Lindsey Graham is out 9 million a year, and Bill Kristol the Neo-Con bigwig is out 11 million a year.

Even Bill Gates was getting USAID money. Like ... why? We're 36 trillion in debt, we can't be funding the political elites.

Politically I have no dog in this hunt, libertarians have never won an election "ever" lol

But as an American taxpayer I have to applaud this loudly. The howling from both sides of the aisle is delicious.

3 billion a year is a drop in the bucket to be sure, but maybe next they can start in on the DoD which is 300x as much.

Just knowing that someone is actually digging into the money trails and is willing to publicly point them out is a big help. It will have an effect on the ones not yet uncovered and may just cause some of them to dry up.

Why?
Because we are the United States

We are the wealthiest nation on earth and are respected for providing humanitarian support

In a Carrot one the stick scenario, USAID is the carrot and our military is the stick……you don’t always want to negotiate through fear

Which is why the humanitarian projects are not on the chopping block but just getting routed through State, which makes sense.
