When an individual is hired by a firm that sells products to customers, that individual is in essence, agreeing to treat "all" customers the same and with courtesy, unless said customer is abusive and/or refusing to pay. That said, the company, upon proof of rude behavior by staff, especially against law enforcement, should "fire" the individual and remind all staff that it will have a zero tolerance policy towards any employee that treats customers poorly.
