The Left HAD Pool and Rogan...and drummed them out of their party with cancel culture.

The Crouders, Kirks and Bannons...you can't replicate that...because the reason a voter seeks out alt-media is because those individuals have lost faith in the biased Legacy Media.

If you agree with Legacy Media, there is no need to search out an alternative.

The only way to create leftwing alt media is to challenge the Establishment...and the Establishment isn't going to help you financially to oppose them.

You might want to tune in once in a while and educate yourself.

It's a freebie for those left wing foundations like Ford, a captive market for their assorted TV and radio propaganda pieces. The local stations kick back their fundraising to the main Hive and then run the silly crap on the local channels. Musk can help force them to spend the locally raised money on local news and shows, chosen and produced by locals themselves and reflect local values, and televise stuff like local city council meetings, City committees, etc.

There may be no more justifiable target for the budget cutters of the second Trump administration than the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. After all, what rationale is there in the age of ubiquitous streaming and podcasts for government to support television and radio via legislation virtually unchanged since 1967? Add the deep progressive tilt of National Public Radio and the Public Broadcasting Service and it’s no surprise Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy have promised that their Department of Government Efficiency will zero out the $535 million CPB budget.

The essay goes on to make the case for keeping the national network but removing the bias and forcing it into a real role in local public broadcasting and getting rid of the Foundations' control and stranglehold on it. He points out that if the Federal influence and funding are cut off completely the giant left wing foundations would easily take it over anyway and there would be zero outside influence on their propaganda. It's a shaky case, but has some points.

Because actually thinking and discussing policies and solutions doesn't work for being an "influencer". That would require debating issues and having reasoned discussions on them. That's why the right wing has a plethora of media figures. A more simple message. Easily digestible. Can be packaged more easily. Doesn't require much in the way of nuance or understanding. Real time reaction and emotions that are easy for the average media consumer to pick up on.
