Why? I have been using picvault. It works well, links to the pic, so it doesn't take up space on the site. At least that how I understand it.

Are you "browsing" under "Manage Attachments" and selecting the image from your hard drive, rather than Photobucket? That's how you get thumbnails. You only need to put them on photobucket if you plan on posting the full sized image, or a link to the image.
