Oh hell, Not to me! I love gift certificates. But I've been married ALOT longer than you, LOL! I know he gets frustrated not knowing what to get me, even though I'm happy with anything I get. But he knows I like crafts, he gets me a gift certificate to my favorite craft store and I'm in hog heaven!! He remembered what I liked and still gave me options of exactly what I want.
But I'm not like most women, so don't go by me :D

ya, but I did that for her birthday. It's too easy, too good to be true.
Don't want to take that chance!

I prefer them, I like to buy the books that I want. The trick is to get the Certificate from some place she loves to shop.

For her birthday i just got one from the mall. It was strange cause it was
just a visa check card, could be used anywhere, yet I already have one.
Didn't think bout it till I bought it but I paid for a card I already have!
Kinda lame huh?

EXACTLY!!!!

For my birthday I got a $50 gift certificate to the craft store, $100 bill for the fabric store, and I was happier than I could possibly have been with a $500 necklace! Then again, I don't do jewelry. LOL!!

Or the Dewalt 18 volt battery operated tool set at Home depot! Always a hit! :)

A few years ago I found a Bosch 24V drill on close-out for $99. Wow. My wife LOVED it!! And she still uses it.

My wife's gifts?

Belt-sander from her parents
Hand-sander from my brother

For stocking-stuffers I got her a laser-level, some wood-clamps, and a tool belt.

:)

...sometimes it's pretty cool to have a wife who isn't into romatic/thoughtful/pretty things. :D

hehe

Yeah, but if you just handed her the card that she already has and said "Go Shopping!" it would definitely be lazy. It shows you cared to actually go and think about her.

How about a wife who doesn't want presents at all? LOL!! That's me. Although when I do get something, down to a handwritten card, it means more to me than anything!!

We're kinda like that....presents aren't something we look forward to, because we buy what we want, and can afford, all the time anyway.

It means more to us to hang out with the kids and junk and stuff...
