I love N.C. It's the closest state climate and geography wise to Georgia I've seen...almost a copy. S.C has more coastal marsh but I like N.C. much better.

Well, I love NC more than any other state too! ;)

I remember some winters wearing shorts all year and some that would freeze your bones. Not very many years with snow though. My grandma used to say, "it's too cold to snow". Ever heard of that?

Oh yeah. It is true as well, if it gets too cold it will not snow more than one or two flakes.

What like those Appalachian "Mountains" they have out east? I was driving through Pennsylvania on my way to my duty station in Maryland and didn't even realize I was in "Mountains" until I saw a sign telling me I was leaving the Appalachian Mountains. I almost had a hernia laughing.

One time in Texas I got in an argument with by then GF about whether there were times the tops of the Mountains were hidden in clouds. I told her that the mountains get so tall that the top is tundra year round and trees won't grow there, she basically called me a liar. I guess Timber Line is something Texans will never understand until they see it, and anybody who has seen something a Texan hasn't is always a liar.

I thought it was always true. We've had snot freezing weather and no snow, then it's been warm (a warm cold) and a dang blizzard outside. Strange! :wtf:

Besides, grandma is always right! :funnyface

:D

Hahahahaha...Hey! Not nice.

Well, it was boring as hell...But I spent my time with the Secret Service guys and the Ranch manager, which was also Johnsons Pilot, had a nice time with them. Learned alot and heard many great stories too. :D

It's really a moisture thing Pride..Typically very cold air masses contain little moisture,
so no snow..but it really isn't the temp. itself..it's more a cause effect thing.

It's true that very cold air most times will not produce snow..But that's cuz it's dry..
Not cuz it's cold. Nit pickin I know.. :D

In other words booger freezin' cold doesn't hold enough moisture in the air for snow to fall!

It wasn't for you! I was repeating in order to ensure that I was clearly understanding the point. Um, Yeah!

It was also a rather lame attempt at a joke.
