It became popular in social media.

But she can't walk the streets at home without an escort, but congrats on being a pilot from a Muslim nation..I am glad that even some Muslims can see that no matter the sex or sexual orientation, humans can be productive for their country,,,

What I find even MORE interesting is that the family of Major al-Mansouri (UAE-AF) disowned her. (About a year ago.)

'We the Mansouri family in the United Arab Emirates hereby publicly declare that we disown the so-called Mariam Al Mansouri as well as anyone taking part in the brutal international aggression against the brotherly Syrian people, starting with our ingrate daughter Mariam Al Mansouri.

Yes that is quite interesting. I do (periodically) watch and read good Arab comedy. Some of the Saudi have superior comedic writers. Here is one I read just recently. Sometimes you have to think a moment, arrange your mind in a Arabic Orientation. Once you get in the proper mindset, you can laugh your ass off.

Abu Dhabi (CNN) In a family home set in Saudi Arabia 100 years from now, a father resplendent in his futuristic silver robe tells his daughter that he's got some good news for her.

She jumps out of her seat excitedly and asks: "Can women drive now?"
"No, no," he says dismissively. "But there are new cars that drive themselves."

Yes it's absurd, in Saudi Arabia woman can pilot planes but can't drive cars.
