There have been many attempts to claim Jesus was a socialist, They all fail because of that political factor I mentioned.

Christian charity for the destitute was an act of doing God's will and honoring God thusly.
Charity for the poor in the Marxist state is duty to the state itself and no personal investment is needed at all.
When Marx condemned God and called religion the opiate of the poor he pretty much killed all leftist claims
to Jesus (The Lightbringer) though dim witted leftists still try claim he is socialist himself.

There are many radical preachers claiming the same. They are all phonies and charlatans.
