The rich don't put their money back into the economy, the poor do. They are the ones who spend their entire paycheck and put it right back into the economy. The rich don't do that. They're not buying 40 mansions, 32 yachts, 500 cars.

Let's say you have 1 rich person, let's say it's Jeff Bezos who owns Amazon. Let's say he decides to invest 1 billion dollars to grow his business. So he buys a few trucks, and hires a few drivers. Let's say it's a 50/50 split, 1 driver for every new truck.

Entry level pay for Amazon drivers is $20 an hour. Which is 800 a week, or 3200 a month, or about 40k a year give or take. The question is, how many drivers is Bezos going to hire?

Answer: if he's spending 500 million, he's going to hire a little north of 10,000 drivers. That's TEN THOUSAND JOBS.

Not to mention the 10,000 trucks he's buying, which means even more jobs.

Now let's look at where the driver's money goes. Guess where it goes. RENT. If the jobs are in Los Angeles, rent is 2000 a month, which means 2/3 of a driver's income goes to the rent. Now add in the electric bill which averages another 300 a month, and gas and water and city services which are another 100. That means the MAXIMUM TOTAL of a driver's disposable income is 800 a month.

So that 500 million in the hands of poor people results in only a 25% investment back into the economy. And fully half of that is for groceries.

They're spending a teeny tiny fraction of their wealth on a month to month basis. You really drank the FoxNews koolaid have you?

I don't own a TV. But I live right near an Amazon warehouse, and there's another one just 10 miles away. I see a whole fleet of Amazon delivery trucks in front of my door every morning.

The wealthy provide JOBS, that's what they do with their money.

I'm a teetotaler, like President Trump. I'm healthy and don't spend any money on alcohol and drugs. Cigarettes are $15 a pack now, have you noticed? My neighbor is a smoker, he spends $60 a week on cigarettes. Which is about $250 a month. I can't afford that, I'm sending two kids to Ivy League universities right now. If not for my JOB I couldn't do that.
