So there is the first misrepresentation from the right. The incident in which that happened was during a wellness visit from CMPD, a WELLNESS VISIT. Not the investigation of a crime, not even a noise complaint. The dude actually told the police officers someone had implanted a device in his body that was controlling his actions. When they didn't respond, other than to say, "Not our problem", he called 911.

The damn dude was screaming for help. He was ignored. That is not a political issue, well other than the fact that twenty years ago, when North Carolina had twice the beds for inpatient mental health than they do now, when North Carolina had community based mental health clinics and home visitation by mental health professionals, his ass would have been "arrested" and promptly delivered to one of those mental health institutions. That is where the responsibility lies and that lays clearly at the feet of, you guessed it, REPUBLICANS.
