I entered this thread because all the Trumpnuts were actually doing the happy dance. A black man kills a white woman, from Ukraine no less, and we got it on video. Whoo Hoo. Then the wife and I go out to dinner to celebrate my son's birthday with his girlfriend. Kobe's, I hate that damn place, but the wife let the son pick and he picked for his girlfriend. You know the kind of place, hibachi grill, chef cooks the food in front of you and half a dozen strangers.

Well we are so lucky that we get seated with a large group, a couple to the left of us, the four of us, and then three people from a family sitting directly across from us, one set of grandparents and an aunt. also celebrating the granddaughters birthday. The granddaughter and her parents, a sister, also an aunt, sitting beside great Grandmaw, definitely over 90 years old, and the other set of grandparents

Prior to the checks being dropped all hell breaks loose on the other side. The sisters suddenly start going at it, over something great Grandmaw did. It was heart breaking to watch, and infuriating, Sure, it is a train wreck that you just can't look away from, but all I see is Great Grandmaw, heart broken, and I am about to go postal on these white trash redneck pieces of shit. Wife slams her hand on my leg under the table and squeezes tight. My blood pressure is exploding and the anger is building. I am almost hyperventilating. Great Grandmaw, she is so sad, so hurt, so helpless.

Finally, we get the check paid. One sister storms out, the other is continually mouthing off to anyone and everyone that will listen. And great Grandmaw, she is still there, just wanting to go ahead a die and get it over with. My party exits left, I go right, my wife's eyes as big as saucers, I can see her calculating bail money. I walk up to Great Grandmaw and ask to give her a hug. And I am not a hugger. And I whisper in her ear, "I love you". And I walk away.

I am not sure who was more relieved. My wife or great Grandmaw. Great Grandmaw because that single action shut the big mouth sister up. My wife because I hadn't thrown the big mouth sister's face into the hot grill. I toss my wife the keys to the car when we get outside, and when we get in the car I just start bawling my eyes out. It was just too much for me. How can anyone be so void of empathy.

That is you Trumpnuts, absolutely void of empathy. So consumed with yourself, just like your dear leader.

So nobody in power in Charlotte, North Carolina wants anyone to pass around a viral video of a young Ukrainian refugee being murdered in cold blood on the local public transport.
Here's the mayor of Charlotte, someone named Vy Lyles, speaking on the killing:
The video of the heartbreaking attack that took Iryna Zarutska’s life is now public. I want to thank our media partners and community members who have chosen not to repost or share the footage out of respect for Iryna’s family.
This was a senseless and tragic loss. My prayers…​

Heartbreaking? How about disturbing? How about a warning to never, ever, ride that transit system again, given the presence of these kinds of killers who can get arrested 14 times and still never experience punishment? All of her concern is directed at the bum, not his victim. The presumption that the victim's family wouldn't want the video aired is a stretch, too, given how low their chances are for obtaining justice for their daughter.
One could argue that the hazard here is not the presence of criminals on the tram, but the fact that criminals who attack you are practiced in their craft because they are never going to be punished.
They could kill you and it wouldn't be long before they are out on the streets again, the pitiful victims of an oppressive system as this hideous mayor avers.
