In case you had not noticed, there is a thing call the Federal Reserve that continuously tinkers with the economy by setting monetary policy for the US. So, when you go to buy that home, the mortgage rate is set by them. They will determine whether you can afford to buy a home or not based on the rates they set, and they set those rates to try and guide the economy towards or away from inflation. Just the mere existence of the Federal Reserve in this regard is proof that the government has a great deal of power over the economy, or there jobs are all illegitimate.

And the fact that governments have caused mass inflation by just printing money is both a historical and economics 101 fact.

Teachers made about 10 grand in 1970 and over 70 grand now. Has the cost of living exceeded that. Probably in realty but nothing else, I would think.
