The Green Deal of the Future

Didn't read your OWN ARTICLES -- did ya??? From the NYT China plans 360Billion... Which over the 5 years doesn't really amount to much. But the REALITY of what it's BOUGHT THEM so far should slow your roll a bit..

Mr. Geall and Mr. Myllyvirta both said that Thursday’s announcement was missing any language on curtailment, or the amount of electricity generated by wind and solar that never finds its way to the country’s power grid. In China, wind power curtailment was 19 percent in the first nine months 2016, Mr. Myllyvirta said, many times higher than in the United States, where curtailment levels are often negligible.

The main reason for curtailment, he said, is that China is plagued by overcapacity in electricity generation and operators of China’s grid often favor electricity generated from coal.

In recent years the country has also been building coal-fired power plants at a furious pace, although that has recently slowed along with China’s economy. Another omission from Thursday’s announcements, Mr. Myllyvirta said, was the absence of any specific target to reduce coal consumption.

So why is wind power IGNORED??? Because it's terminally unreliable and flaky... You cannot IDLE a coal plant for the 3 hours that the wind is blowing. It's meaningless, token masturbation.

And solar may be more consistent, but it's a SUPPLEMENT -- not an alternative to 24/7 grid generation.. The Demand Load at night is about 80% of daytime peaks.. Which means anything over about 10 or 15% of DAYTIME generation, needs a DUPLICATE GENERATOR to carry the night load..

Dream on..

And BTW watchingfromafar -- China is building out HYDRO electric projects.. BIG TIME.. I mean world biggest.. And the Green econauts won't allow THAT renewable source in the USA anymore. In fact, besides killing off nat gas, nuclear, coal, air travel and shipping -- the Green mafia wants to tear DOWN our renewable hydroelectric dams that THEY demanded about 70 years ago.

And China COULD BE spending more than a 1/3 of that $360Bill on just ONE DAMN DAM !!

Go write up the plans to crater this economy and kill some people when the grid browns out in the winter when your sun does not shine, the solar panels are under 8 inches of snow and the wind don't blow -- and stop drinking the koolaid on this fantasy shit.....

The dipshits pushing this insanity don't seem to realize it bankrupt the country.

You can't cure stupid.

Just ask them -- What you gonna power a hospital with at night when the wind don't blow? That's good for laughs..... Or run the hospital generator with when the grid goes down?

Or -- Which are you more scared of? Global Warming or Nuclear power? Watch the heads explode....

They've thought NOTHING through.. It's a religion and they've been indoctrinated by our schools and a complicit media. Have no idea how many lives would be lost OUTLAWING nat gas appliances and heating.

This Is The End of The Fossil Fuel Age as We Know It, Says Report
BEC CREW

16 JUN 2016
Fossil fuels are holding on, but end of their reign is nigh, says a new report from Bloomberg New Energy Finance, which predicts that wind and solar will be cheaper than coal and gas generators by 2027, and electric vehicles could make up 25 percent of the global car fleet by 2040.

The peak year for coal, gas, and oil looks to be 2025, and then it’s all downhill from there. For big oil guys, at least. "You can't fight the future," says lead researcher, Seb Henbest. "The economics are increasingly locked in."

Released on Monday, Bloomberg’s New Energy Outlook report has found that US$11.4 trillion will be invested in new energy sources over the next 25 years, and two thirds of that will go towards renewables, particularly wind and solar.

Any new coal plants will mostly be cropping up in India and other emerging markets in Asia.

The report explains:
"Cheaper coal and cheaper gas will not derail the transformation and decarbonisation of the world’s power systems. By 2040, zero-emission energy sources will make up 60 percent of installed capacity.

Wind and solar will account for 64 percent of the 8.6TW [1 Terawatt = 1,000 Gigawatts] of new power generating capacity added worldwide over the next 25 years, and for almost 60 percent of the $11.4 trillion invested."

The report predicts that coal, gas, and oil will peak by 2025, and will hit its final decline even sooner than that, concluding that, "coal and gas will begin their terminal decline in less than a decade".

By 2027, the real tipping point will occur, when fossil fuels will be well and truly on the decline and renewables have been established long enough that they’ll likely be generating energy more cheaply than existing coal, gas, and oil refineries. And there’s nothing quite like a cheaper price to accelerate an industry even further.

Keep in mine, "peak" does not means "END"; it just means the beginning of the end :)-
