The greatest US president

Abe killed a million Americans;
HUH??? If anyone was to blame for the Civil War and its 600,000 deaths, it was the Southern slaveholding aristocracy. The Deep South had no valid reason to refuse to accept Lincoln's election, nor did they have any valid reason to fire on Fort Sumter.

Washington pitted Family against Family; parleyed with the French in a treasonous act that led to revolutions that killed MILLIONS................French, Russian and Chinese).
Double HUH??? If Washington had not obtained help from the French, the colonists would have lost the war and remained under British control. Washington had nothing to do with the French Revolution.

I keep going to Theodore Roosevelt. Greg
Teddy Roosevelt was nowhere near as great as Washington or Lincoln.

If the great American experiment of a Constitutionally limited government is given its due, then Lincoln has to be granted some leniency in how he is viewed, historically. He did save the Union.

By that metric, he deserves recognition as one of our best President. (Warts and all.)

George Washington had faults, too. But he surely deserves the ranking of number one or number two on the list of great Presidents.

Although his public speaking undercuts the perception of how great he is, I also believe that President Trump deserves massive credit for his efforts to preserve our republic against the inroads made by liberal Democrat policies over the past many decades.

Thank you, Mike. I agree with all above.

The South was to blame for secession and the war and its casualties.

French intercession on behalf of the colonies was absolutely vital for American independence.

No doubt

You talk about how Coolidge ended a depression in 18 months and how purchasing power increased by 50% under his Presidency, right?
The major details and events of every president are presented to the degree allowable given time and space constraints.

So, same answer since the last Conservative teacher was removed from the education system in the 1970’s — fuck no! It would cut into our “FDR was the greatest” time
