The greatest rock vocalist Olympics starts now!!!

Different generation, Son.

Plus I already said I thought Tatiana deserved it instead.

If you don't know who she is try this.

She has everything you just described as "metal techniques" although I would say the Metal is the one genre you can do pretty much anything you want with.

Gotta watch the whole thing for the full effect.

I'm a big fan of RJD BTW. Grew up on his stuff.

But you gotta grow too. It's what Ronnie would have wanted.

This isnt a matter of new or old metal. Its a matter of who the best TECHNICAL singer there is. Su Metal is NOT a powerhouse vocalist. Liking her doesnt make her a world class singer. There are very objective standards that you can judge singers by from ANY generation. She isnt a generational talent when it comes to singing.

If Dio had auditioned to get into Juliard, he would have easily passed, but Su Metal would not. There are objective standards that she could never qualify for. Nor would Ozzy Osbourne, James Hetfield and about a thousand other rock singers.

Actually she is a powerhouse vocalist, just not a growler. Generational differences do matter in this kinda thing wheether you want to admit it or not.

And you are still acting like she was my choice for the award.

I already told you who I preferred.

And none of these people are trying to get into Julliard, .but she is also more popular than most who did.

This is the challenge. You must compete against MY pick as the greatest rock vocalist. Bring any challenger that you want. My pick will crush ALL of you!

Do yourself a massive favor, get past the very short (admittedly soft and lame intro) of this song and listen to this entire performance. He goes hard as **** on this one.

This is not about who your favorite singer is. This is a challenge of who is technically the best powerhouse singer. Dio will be taking home the gold medal, I assure you.

I saw Rainbow at the Beacon Theatre in NYC their first US tour

Absolutely brilliant

No, she has very little power in her voice. She has a thin voice. That doesnt mean she sucks, but she isnt a "powerhouse singer", and her style employs very few singing techniques. She is nothing near a Pavarotti level singer. She isnt special.

Paul Rodgers. No question.
He is at least in the ballpark when it comes to "powerhouse singers". No one else seems to understand this contest.

Got a link? Lets pit your performance against Dio's performance in the OP. I bet you wont find one better. :dunno:

Dio's voice was amazing in that era. He used less growl and more pure singing. "Stargazer" is the greatest song from the 70's, period. It beats all the great songs from that era, in my opinion. Its a masterpiece.

Check it out. Here is a recording of your concert. Only audio.

The opening act got booed offstage

There’s a statue in front of the stage that an audience member climbed

Kill the King hadn’t been released yet so it was new

LOUDEST CONCERT EVER! This recording should be 10 times louder

I loved Blackmore and Dio but doesn’t Stargazer remind you of another song from the 70s?

It sounds like Kashmir by Led Zeppelin. They both use the Egyptian musical scale in the guitar playing and they also both have a philharmonic, but Stargazer predates Kashmir by a year, so it appears that Zeppelin stole the idea from Rainbow, assuming thats the song youre refering to.

YOu're just being hypercritical. She has an extremely powerful voice, though it is in a higher register.

Is it that she's a girl?

Is that what bothers you?

And this whole thing is dumb. I've already told you several times I think there were better choices.

Bye

There are not many powerhouse female voices. Su Metal is not one of them.
