FWIW the point of the thread was to discuss the widespread presumption that the government IS an insurance company and is there to "cover" all our losses.

I’m all in on discussing the premise of your thread, I think it’s a good one…I made the point that it only makes sense for you to hold such a position if you are prepared to condemn the importation of tens of millions of taxpayer funded thirdworlders and support the aggressive deportation of tens of millions blood-sucking parasites…you can’t seem to be able to do that, you have conflicting positions. The Republican plan to solve the decades-long crisis was exactly NOTHING.

The Democrats have made it plain for a very long time their ultimate goal is single-payer healthcare, a.k.a "socialized medicine" as it was called when Teddy Kennedy began promoting the idea in 1971.
