Anyway, back to the topic of this thread.
Ugh.
Okay, the problem with our struggle with China isn't "Capitalism vs. Communism", or "Atheism vs. Judeo-Christianity", whatever the hell that is.
The Chinese are probably better capitalists than we are. They understand the importance of long-term investments. The reason why they are weathering Trump's unnecessary trade war so well is that they spent the last 20 years investing in third-world trading partners the West largely ignored.
As for religion, Only about 13% of China's population is non-religious despite 80 years of Communist rule. Religion in China is kind of hard to track because the vast majority belong to folk religions, Buddhism, and Taosim, which kind of blend.
Now, compare that to the US, where about 15% of the population is some form of "non-religious".
Nope, here's what the real problem we have with China.
The US and the West have the messiness of Democracy. Democracy fails when people vote for things but are unwilling to take the necessary actions to make them happen.
China is a Technocracy/Command Economy. Shit gets done.
So while we foolishly elect a fake Game Show Host who could say the most outrageous lies to get people to vote against their own self-interests, China appoints the most capable people they can find to lead.
Not saying their system is good, it isn't. It's very oppressive. But it is efficient.
