Here’s the part you just don’t get. Once the venue rental money is paid to the owners, it’s their money. What they do with it is their business.

Christians have themselves to blame. They were fine when the first civil right legislation included them. They were ecstatic with tax free status. Well, it all comes full circle doesn't it?

This is not a tax free business. They pay taxes like everyone else. They just don't get the same protections as other businesses that pay taxes.

The solution is certainly acceptable. I would go a step further and have couples sign a disclaimer that they understand and are willing to have their payment go to organizations that promote traditional marriage.

Naw. I would just put a huge sign right behind the cash register that reads,

"Some of the proceeds from our sales are donated to promote traditional marriage".

Then just smile as I take their money.

I believe it is up to the community to decide who should be married or not.

While you are 100% correct constitutionally, there is even a better answer than that. The government has absolutely no authority to even oversee marriage. It’s a private matter between citizens and their church.

None of us should even be required to apply for a marriage license. Had we actually kept the government out of it, homosexuals would have been able to “marry” in any church willing to recognize it.

Yes Mulroney was in power as long as we had no problem with his management of the country. But when he passed NAFTA, he was gone and so was his party.
