The gasoline price panic

Right, trump agreed to OPEC+, this is a fact, a 2-year agreement to reduce production.
This agreement was a trap to **** trump over for his previous actions.
The Saudis were making so much money, that when biden asked them to increase production, they didn't.

Because doing so would:

  1. Lower oil prices
  2. Reduce their revenue
  3. Break OPEC+ discipline
  4. Undermine their long-term market control

Bottom line

OPEC+ isn’t trying to maximize supply—it’s trying to manage scarcity for profit and stability.

And Saudi Arabia didn’t refuse the U.S. out of spite—they refused because:

Trump's agreement forced OPEC to cut their production every month, from 21.5 million barrels a day in April 2020
all the way down to 30.1 million barrels a day in August 2022.

Biden was helpless in the face of the relentless production cuts. 8.6 mbd less than...umm...err...

I guess that was 8.6 million barrels more a day. Sneaky Trump, causing Biden's massive failure by
getting OPEC to produce 40% more oil. DURR

That was last year.
Try again dembot

$101 a barrel now.
Any intelligent person that saw this thread would have immediately known it was jumping the gun and that it wasn't going to age well.

With each passing day, this thread becomes more and more absurd and disconnected from reality.

Proving that you manipulate data by searching OPEC and NOT OPEC+.

Simple way to remember

  • OPEC = core oil cartel
  • OPEC+ = cartel + allies (especially Russia)

âš¡ Bottom line

Yes, there’s a clear difference:

  • OPEC production = smaller group, narrower scope
  • OPEC+ production = broader coalition, more important for global oil prices

30.1 millon is more then 21,5 so how was that a cut down?

You are right xiden was helpless

Oil is up 50% moron.

Gas prices were low during the COVID pandemic because demand had fallen off a cliff.

Demand rose under Biden because we were coming out of the pandemic. Production increases big couldn’t respond as fast as demand increased so there was a transitory spike in prices until demand caught up.

It had little to do with anything Biden did or didn’t do.

When Biden left office, gas was like $3 a gallon. It’s significantly higher now.
Under Biden, gas prices peaked at $5 a gallon. We were not at war and the only reason was Biden's misguided 'no more fossil fuel' policies.

If you can find a chart for OPEC+ from 2020 to 2023 that shows they cut production for 2 years,
I'd be thrilled to see the evidence that supports your claim.
