As a matter of fact the Republicans have won the popular vote, if I remember correctly, since 2004. But they did this year. So 20 years after they last won a popular vote, they won the popular vote. They won the electoral college vote. The man won every swing state. And on top of it all, 89 percent of the counties shifted (inaudible.)

The Democrats gerrymandered their way into a majority in both houses that they maintained for years. When I was young (70's), it was conventional wisdom that the Article I branch belonged to Democrats and would continue to.

But that won't work anymore, now that the GOP has decided to adopt the same tactic. The Democrats must now win statewide elections, in order to get the advantage in gerrymandering again.

But they will find that difficult with no policies. What they have had for many years now, instead of policies is an exagerated, hyper-emotional reaction to everything Trump does or says. I often wonder if that is fake, just part of the lying that the OP talked about.

I don't know which is more concerning, that Democrats are pretending to be so outraged at every single thing Trump does no matter what it is, or if that level of hatred is real.

It's actually simple to those of us who know Jesus, the Bible and Church teaching (We seem to be quite rare, though).

There is both good and evil in the world. There is a devil who hates God and wants to destroy human beings (drag them into eternal misery, aka Hell), I guess because he himself was permanently 86d from Heaven and he is envious of humans for still having a chance, albeit a small one... I hear non-ironic use of some of those phrases. But I work in public school, with many overly-degreed Democrats.

Even there, they are rare. It was last Spring when I was asked by our school psychologist if she should talk to teachers about avoiding "microaggressions."
