The OP doesn't understand the 3/5 compromise. The slave states wanted slaves to count as residents for apportioning Representatives in Congress. The non-slave states didn't want them to count at all since the slave states considered slaves to be property. Property doesn't get Representatives. So they compromised.

That's bullshit and you know it. We've been over this many times before. The slave owners wanted their slaves (you know what they considered farm animals, not people) to be counted for the census to enhance the slave state's political power. The free states didn't want slaves counted at all. The slave states won the compromise getting each slave counted as three fifth of a free person. AND the compromise only counted towards slaves, NOT free blacks who were counted as full people just like whites. Oddly, the democrats that you support want to count illegal aliens who can't vote for the census to increase the democrat's political power and you don't have a single problem with it. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

First off she's going to run into Republican bosses who think she's going to quit in 5 years to have a kid. Why do you keep posting the same lies? I've debunked your slanted posts on the subject at least a dozen times. The Three Fifths Compromise had NOTHING to do with affirmative action. It was all about political power for the slave states. The slave states wanted ALL of their human property that had no rights counted in the census so they would have more legislative seats and more votes in the Electoral College. The free states didn't want slaves counted at all since they were considered property by their owners in the South with no rights. The South won and cemented their control of the nation for nearly eighty years until immigration overturned the advantage the number of slaves gave them.
