My first father-in-law was amazing at tuning out the wife and 3 daughters under his roof. I asked him how he did it....he said he hears them but pays no attention unless they're plotting his murder or the dog bit the mailman....other than that, nothing.

Don't hesitate to remind the woman that she isn't the only person who is supposed to be happy, therefore if she is not holding up her end of the deal, don't be afraid to make sure that she is well aware of it. It takes two people to make a marriage work.
