'The feel of a coup': Elon Musk said to be poised to 'defy' major judicial order

LOl.. so in your view the president is a king or dictator who can do whatever the hell he wants. Only in Trumplandia.

So Judges can tell anyone what they should do

A controversy is brought up and a judge has to rule on it. If a party doesn't like it, that party can appeal. What a party cannot do is ignore it without having consequences.

Hopefully, Trump will not ignore a court order, and will appeal the ones he doesn't like. That is the proper way to do it.

We will see what Musk actually does. At this point it is all speculation.

If Musk were to violate the Court Order and Trump does nothing, the Court should find him in Contempt and have his ass arrested. Of course that will fall on Pam Bondi to do that.

No one can pick and choose what court order they wish to follow.

The proper mechanism to fight a court order is to appeal.

If the Trump Administration ignores the Order that will set up a Constitutional crisis of the first order. Trump is not a king or an emperor who rules by fiat.
In principle, I actually agree with you on the bolded portions, above, but with some caveats.

If you believe (as I do here) that the judge’s command for Musk and company to immediately destroy any copies they have already taken of the information they obtained is facially outside of his authority, it would be folly to obey that part.

But I do believe that, except for defying that part, the best course is to appeal the order.

Trump may win on appeal. My whole point is the executive branch has no power to ignore an order of the court. If he wins in Court, he wins. That is the system we live in and the one I respect.

"appears poised to defy a judicial order, according to observers"

That means- hasn't happened yet and may or may not.

According to observers?

LOL! Are they professional observers?

There isn't a lure on this planet too big for you lefties to swallow.
This is the equivalent of "Unnamed Sources".

Didn't stop Biden on student loans did it? The left will never get around that

For starters, I was against that student loan forgiveness.

Second, Biden modified his program. The loans that were forgiven by Biden were separate from the ones the Supreme Court ruled against.

Partial credit.

But of course the Executive Branch does have a right and the power to ignore a lawless order before the appellate process culminates, at least in certain instances.

For example, the portion of the order directing Musk and company to immediately destroy the records they had already obtained should be defied — boil and unless it gets affirmed by SCOTUS.

I assume you understand why this is needed.

Biden ignored the Supreme Court. I'm not going to play this game with you. I fully know better

But its a Digital Service department in effect since 2014 and just doing their job!

“Elon Musk appears poised to defy a judicial order, according to observers. Musk, the richest man in the world and an appointee of Donald Trump, was dealt a blow over the weekend when a judge reportedly blocked Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing personal financial data from the Treasury Department, which resulted in a MAGA meltdown.”

The fascist Trump regime in full bloom – now defying lawful court orders.
says the bigot jones....

Biden and the democrats have already shown us the blueprint. They would ignore even the Supreme Court.

Just ignore it.

A Judge rules that Sec Tres cant look at Treasury data; Trump needs to sign an EO declaring the Judges rulings null and void.

No, according to the COTUS everything that Trump has been doing is perfectly legal.
