Smerconish is not that.
Let me say it this way "his show today caught my attention because it is exactly the way I think and feel, and I am 100% a centrist. I was a Republican for 35 years but always supported the person who was to be president, rather than the parties themselves. I moved to the center after 2009 when the Right went to the extreme. I have voted with the Democrats the last 3 elections but not because I am a Democrat but because I am anti-Trump (the person) and anti-the-extreme-Right (who is in charge of the party). The extreme left has not been in charge of the party at any time. Biden has always been a centrist.

100% wrong!!

I have proven it over and over again, given than I have not been about the issues but about the person running the party. What I have been is anti-incompetency!
Remember the rule: If you're not in the cult, you can only be an evil satanic pedophile commie leftist.

People across the spectrum know this isn't about politics or the issues, it's about us as a people.

The wings will never be a part of any kind of cooperative process. Worse, they'll fight it every step. The question is whether there will be people in between the wings who can get any traction towards getting control back from the crazies. I'm not particularly hopeful at the moment.

Yeah, I know that the left is the extreme and that means they only think the worst of any who do not totally agree with them. Then again, giving up hope means you accept defeat. I never give up trying. Miracles (though extremely rare) do occur.

I'm definitely looking forward to being proven wrong. Maybe we'll hit a tipping point where enough people have had enough.

Yes, you voted for the most extreme left candidate we have seen since Eugene Debs.
Yes, she was slightly more liberal than others but having been a prosecutor, and her voting record as well, do not reflect her as being an extremist. Nonetheless, when compared to Trump, she was a centrist! He is a proven extremist.

One extreme wants opportunity to Create Wealth and dispense as they see fit.
The other extreme wants to confiscate, Redistribute Wealth, and disperse as they deem fit.

It's Makers versus Takers and middle ground compromise is rarely equal cuts of the pie.

Make more pie versus how to cut the one(limited) pie another way.

This morning on the Smerconish show (on CNN), he showed in a clear way that this country is being torn apart by the extremes of both parties, In his show, he showed (using polls) that Centrism is what most Americans want. Compromises by both parties is what has worked in the past and would be the solution to today's problems

A New Centrism Is Rising in Washington - The New York Times
May 19, 2024 — The very notion of centrism is anathema to many progressives and conservatives, conjuring a mushy moderation. But the ...

I am in total agreement!

What say you?

There is no middle ground between people who believe in democracy (Democrats) and people who don't (MAGA Republicans).

Just like there is no middle ground between being pregnant and not pregnant.

Smerconish's empty platitudes are meaningless.

Well, the reality is as you point out (meaning that is the problem) but reality also is that looking for solutions is something that always needs to be done, given that otherwise defeat and chaos will follow.

It is evident by your post that you are happy to have your head inside of Trump's ass and that you are willing to give up doing anything to change that.
