If you know so much about working smart why are you lacking knowledge in planing for retirement?

You seem unaware of things like Social Security, retirement pensions, 401k plans, IRA funds, savings bonds and savings and checking accounts in banks. Also a house is an investment especially if you own it.

I wouldn’t say that items like I mention provide an endless supply of money but it is a sufficient flow. I don’t lay awake at night worrying about money and with the exception of when I first started working I never have.

In passing the way I saved money was by first paying off my house and car and then putting the money I was paying every month in the bank. When I bought my next car I paid cash. If I wanted something I would just save money and buy it. I have used a credit card for years but every month I pay it off.

First you said you have no budget, implying an endless supply of money. Even the wealthiest person in the world has a budget. Now' you're saying you dont have an endless supply of money. You have trouble keeping your lies straight, dont you?

Is my knowledge of financial instruments on trial here? Or was that merely a deflection to mask the fact that you are a liar.

Why do liberals always insist on insulting people on this board. Do you all have an inferiority complex? I am not lying to you. If you listen to what I am telling you, you may also be able to retire before you turn 60 just like me.

Why do you need a budget? I know everybody says you must have one but to me it is just a pain in the ass. If you want to buy something expensive just save your money until you can pay for it. Don’t eat out five times a week at expensive restaurants. Find an inexpensive hobby. Don’t waste money trying to keep up with the Joneses.

When I first started working I probably did sit down and figure out how much I was spending every month and set limits on things like entertainment. That was over half a century ago so I don’t remember if I did or not.

When I was married I let my wife run the finances. That was a mistake as when we got divorced I ended up paying off the debt she had ran up on our credit card. Now I seem to remember she did operate on a budget but her method of budgeting was to just keep the monthly payment on our credit low enough that she could make the minimum payment. Once her debt was paid off I decided to keep the card totally paid off every month.

I paid off my house but continued to live in it for another seven years while putting the monthly payments in my bank account. When I sold it I made a considerable profit.

The simple way I budget is just not to spend so much money that I have a large credit card debt or have to take out a loan. If I need to buy something expensive like a car, I have money in my retirement accounts I can access. I am so damn old now that I am forced to take a required minimum distribution out of my retirement accounts every year so the government can tax it. I just stick it in the bank.

The reason I said I didn’t have an endless supply of money is that much of it is invested in the stock market which that idiot Biden will likely figure out a way to crash. Plus at the rate we are spending money Social Security may go broke or Medicare may go bankrupt and medical bills could eat up my savings. Or perhaps this nation will turn socialist and the damn democrats will take my retirement and redistribute it to people who live on budgets. Or this nation might split apart and then the government will decide not to drive Social Security to people who live in the Free Nation of Florida. The final reason is inflation which will make everything more expensive And really hurt people on a fixed income like retirees.

Who are you counting on to save the Republican party? Are you delusional enough to think the young people of today will replace your generation? LOL good luck with that. The Republican party will be dead within 20 years.

I think it's a little more nuanced than that. Young people are often liberal or progressive for their time, but they are perceived as conservative in later life due to the leftward shift of Western society.

If someone maintains the same views throughout their life, they will become conservative in a relative sense only because of this shift. In order to remain progressive or liberal (in the American sense, not Classical Liberal), you have to shift your views leftward with the whims of society.

So, really, it's more a measure of who maintains consistency in principles vs. who follows the herd.

Reminds me of something my sister said when I was deliberating how to finance a Reno of my kitchen. I asked her if she thought I should take out a HELOC or just withdraw the money from my IRA. She said, “why don’t you just do what the liberals do: buy whatever you want with no regard for the cost, and worry about how to pay for it later.”

This is the only accurate thing you've ever said. As the smart white voters who are older die off, they are being replaced by non-whites and non-Christians. Building the border fence is a must to save America.
