Trump Files Missing in Epstein Release Highlight Justice Dept.ās Missteps
In late July, an F.B.I. agent asked colleagues to get started on a sensitive task relating to Jeffrey Epstein, listing the names of 14 prominent men, with President Trump at the top.
In late July, F.B.I. agents exchanged a flurry of early-morning emails about a sensitive task relating to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
An agent listed the names of 14 prominent men, with President Trump at the top, and gave direct instructions: āTake these names and build out new spreadsheet w all the derog on them,ā referring to derogatory information found in the Epstein files.
That morning, agents prepared summaries of the āsalacious statementsā that tipsters and other interviewees had made against Mr. Trump and others. Their rundown on the president consisted of two bullet points. One was an allegation from a woman who said that he sexually assaulted her when she was a teenager. The other was a claim that Mr. Epstein once introduced a woman to Mr. Trump, saying, āThis is a good one, huh?ā with Mr. Trump replying, āYes.ā
These emails, part of the trove of investigative documents involving Mr. Epstein released by the government, show how the Justice Department scrambled last summer as the F.B.I. sought to understand what, exactly, its files said about Mr. Trump and others close to Mr. Epstein. It was an early sign of the departmentās frantic effort to prepare the records for release.
But the departmentās handling of the files has only fueled questions about its commitment to transparency...

Epstein documents raise new questions about Trump conduct as he denounces Democrats
House Oversight panel releases 20,000 documents showing correspondence between Epstein and journalist Michael Wolff

But the latest batch of Epstein emails, released yesterday by Democrats on the House Oversight panel, are ā whatās the right word? ā troubling.
At a very minimum, the long-secret correspondence indicates that Trump was aware of Epsteinās predatory behavior well before he said he broke off the friendship.
As for the White House defense that thereās nothing to see here, and it shows Trump did nothing wrong, consider this.
Investigating House Republicans obtain documents showing that President Obama knew that Jeffrey Epstein was a pedophile and may have had relations with one of the young victims. Wouldnāt 99% of them be screaming about what a horrifying scandal this was?
And wouldnāt most Democrats, even if they criticized the conduct, be searching for ways to justify it? - (NOPE!!!)

Defend this MAGA!!! Defend this MAGA!!! Defend this MAGA!!!
Former MAGA loyalist and Republican lawmaker Marjorie Taylor Greene says that President Donald Trump warned her that his āfriends would get hurtā if she continued pushing for the Department of Justice to release its files on ****** predator Jeffrey Epstein against Trumpās opposition.
Appearing on fitness instructor and conservative commentator Jillian Michaelsā āKeeping It Realā podcast over the weekend, Greene claimed that she and the three other Republicans who supported a discharge petition to force a vote on the release of the Epstein fileswere pressured by the White House āfor monthsā to back down.
āHereās the interesting part. OK, there were only four Republicans, only four of us that signed that discharge petition: Thomas Massie [R-Ky.], myself, Lauren Boebert [R-Colo.], and Nancy Mace [R-S.C.]. Now, what was happening in the background for months leading up to when we finally got it released is we were getting pressure from the White Houseā and House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) to remove their names, she said during the Feb. 15 episode.
Come on and Defend this MAGA!!! Defend this MAGA!!! We're rootin' and a tootin' fer ya MAGA!!!
Outgoing conservative firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene detailed her political breakup with President Donald Trump in a lengthy profile from the New York Times, explaining how she went from championing the president to being declared a ātraitor.ā
The Georgia Republican said her disillusionment with Trump grew over time. She cited the presidentās increasing authoritarianism and his comments following the shooting of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk as flashpoints in her MAGA breakup.
The rift between Trumpās longtime cheerleader and the man himself widened over the summer, when Greene warned Trump over his administrationās handling of the Epstein files scandal. Greene was one of the most vocal Republican voices demanding the full release of the files.
In the interview, Greene says the greatest source of friction with Trump was indeed from the Epstein files. Greene said Trump revealed why he refused to release the files in a phone conversation.
āMy friends will get hurt,ā Trump allegedly told her.
MTG: What Republicans say behind Trumpās back āwould shock peopleā
āIt was Epstein. Epstein was everything,ā she said of their rift, calling the scandal āeverything wrong with Washington.ā
Greene also bristled at Trumpās actions following the death of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. The outgoing Republican said Trumpās speech at a memorial service for Kirk proved that the president ādoes not have any faith.ā
āIt just shows where his heart is,ā she said.

Greene said Trumpās always-right mentality flew in the face of supposed Christian values, noting that political conservatives have ābeen trained by Donald Trump to never apologize and to never admit when youāre wrong.ā
āAs a Christian, I donāt believe in doing that,ā she said.
