And a side note, people had to be aware of the acronym "Doge" being a reminder of dodging, which involves quick side steps, jumps, dips, or dives to avoid something.

It's effectively a President Commission ordained to perform spending audits and make recommendations to POTUS pursuant to eliminating waste, fraud and abuse at scale in the Executive Branch, other Presidents (e.g. Ronald Reagan) instituted similar commissions.

It doesn't have any decision-making authority; all accountability still lies with POTUS since the executive is actually making all the decisions and taking all authoritative actions.

Elon Musk didn't set the goals of DOGE, President Trump did, Musk and his team of volunteers are just carrying out the mission that POTUS set forth, which is to conduct audits and submit recommendations.

All the rhetoric coming from Democrats about Elon Musk shutting things down is nonsense, DOGE has no authority to change anything, its POTUS making all the actual decisions and giving the orders.
