The discovery of a Philistine cemetery in Israel that was there centuries before Christ

I think the whole "who was here first" argument is stupid, but since Israel's supporters bring up their bizarre narrative on every thread which never includes the people who were there and is based on religious texts written by Jews, I figured some actual science might help.

This was from last year and it seems like hasbara forgot it existed...

Discovery of Philistine cemetery in Israel could unravel Biblical mystery

What next? you telling us the globe is round?

(Is this guy for real?)

Abraham and Sarah? The same Sarah who gave birth at almost 100 years old and lived decades longer? And the same Abraham that lived a couple hundred years and fathered a child at 100?

Look, the Jewish bible is not an historical reference and everyone knows it.

So... no physical evidence of early Jewish graves,

Are you kidding me? You find Jewish graves everywhere you dig!

Why do you think the religious parties fumed when they first called for another hospital to be built in Ashkelon? They found a mass graves of Jews right underneath.

You should read more, and frankly, I'm surprised you feel comfortable enough posting here, because so far, I found it difficult to come across anything you post which isn't total and utter bullshit.

Where did I say there were no Jewish graves? Great straw man... now I know how these guys feel...

Khirbet Qeiyafa has no pork bones

Jews did not eat pork so towns that had no pork were exclusively jewish

Pork was a mainstay of philistines and later the roman, though pork in smaller towns was gone by 1000 bce.

That's in Latin letters, dipweed. No such thing as a Palestine. Even the Ottoman's did not recognize it, they considered a European invention. And their maps clearly indicate this for the 800 years of their rule over the land.

Yes, as you may or may not know Turkish has used the Latin alphabet since 1928.

Kudus Special District is بلدية قدس in Ottoman Turkish written in Arabic script and Kudüs-i Şerif belediyesı in Turkish written in Latin script. It encompassed of Palestine.

". The political status of the Mutasarrifate of Jerusalem was unique to other Ottoman province since it came under the .... Jerusalem (Ottoman Turkish: بلدية قدس ; Turkish: Kudüs-i Şerif belediyesı; Arabic: بلدية القدس الشريف ), ..."

And an Ottoman Map of Palestine, published in Filastin Risalesi, an official publication of the Ottoman army. Filastin=Palestine in Turkish. Go back to your bullshit propaganda, loser.

9379037666_4ff0d50213_o.jpg
More garbage. The site clearly says that the Ottoman's labeled the region as Southern Syria. No such thing as a Palestine according to the Ottoman's.

It says no such thing. You lie as usual. Nowhere does it say southern Syria It says Palestine:

"The first map in this collection was published in Filastin Risalesi, an official publication of the Ottoman army intended to be used as an officer’s manual for the Palestine region. "

Filistin Risalesi means Palestine Briefing or Treaty. So your bullshit is as always, bullshit.
As usual you left out the rest, as the page clearly says the Ottoman's did not use the name Palestine for the region. Learn how to read.

Now getting back to the topic, Philistines were an extinct sea faring people closer to the Greeks or Crete. Today's " Palestinians" are an invented identity given to Arab invaders. It is a name given to the Jews of the region until the Arabs hijacked the name, circa 1960's.

No, you are just lying as usual. Filastin (Palestine) was the common name for the area as all the links indicate. You simply can't get away from lying, you have never posted anything that was not a lie from a propaganda site, or something you made up.

Now back to the Philistines, like the Jews, they settled in the area from elswhere but were there before the Jews. And of course, Palestinians have a genetic link to the Philistines. People do not go "extinct" as the local liar claims, Neanderthal genes are present and have been isolated in people around Europe. So, the Palestinians most certainly have Philistine genes since they are the indigenous people of Palestine.

Yes, the Philistines are an extinct race, no such thing as Palestine during the 700 Ottoman rule. They called it Southern Syria. The document says it. Palestine and the Palestinian people are a modern day invention. Again, the land is ancestral, religious, and cultural homeland of the Jews, and they're in total control now. That will never change.

From the Jewish Britannica:

The word Palestine derives from Philistia, the name given by Greek writers to the land of the Philistines, who in the 12th century bce occupied a small pocket of land on the southern coast, between modern Tel Aviv–Yafo and Gaza.

Palestine

The Arab population is descended from Arabs who lived in the area during the mandate period and, in most cases, for centuries before that time.

for centuries before that time.

for centuries before that time.

for centuries before that time.

Palestine

No one is arguing that Arabs have been in Palestine for a long time. So have the Jewish people. The Jewish people have, in fact, been there MUCH longer. For millennia, in fact. Shall I translate that into louie for you?

for millennia

for millennia

for millennia

Some Jew haters provide too much entertainment to be put on ignore.

the Jewish people of Europe have absolutely no connection to the Jewish people living in the territory of ancient Israel
You should have just stopped there.

Philistines were gone after the Babylonian conquest, long before Romans or Jesus

Philistines are not Palestinians, stupid. They are closer to Greeks. Did you fail in world history?
Noone is arguing that, illiterate. The point is that "Palestine" has been used for centuries and "israel" for only part of a century.

Ha ha ha ho ho ho hee hee hee. What a ******* desperate numbskull you are!

The Philistines:

It is from the term "Philistines" that the name "Palestinians" has been taken. Actually, the ancient Philistines and modern Palestinians have something in common: both are invaders from other lands! That is precisely the meaning of their name, that is not an ethnic denomination but an adjective applied to them: Peleshet, from the verb "pelesh", "dividers", "penetrators" or "invaders". The Philistines were a confederation of non-Semitic peoples coming from Crete, the Aegean Islands and Asia Minor, also known as "Sea Peoples". The main tribes were Shekelesh, Shardana, Tsikel or Thekker, Akhaiusha or Ekwesh, Danauna or Denyen, Masa or Meshuesh, Uashesh, Teresh or Tursha, Keshesh or Karkisha, Lukka or Rukka, and Labu. The original homeland of the group that ruled the Philistine federation, namely the "Pelesati", was the island of Crete. When the Minoic civilization collapsed, also the Minoic culture disappeared from Crete, as invaders from Greece took control of the island. These ancient Cretans arrived in Southern Canaan and were known as "Peleshtim" by Hebrews and Canaanites (that became allied to fight the invaders). They also invaded Egypt and were defeated by Pharaoh Ramose III in the 12th century b.c.e. The Philistines were organized in city-states, being the most important the Pentapolis: Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron, and their territory was close to the Mediterranean coast, a little longer and broader than the present-day "Gaza Strip" - not the whole Judah, they never reached Hevron, Jerusalem or Yericho!
Those Sea Peoples that invaded Egypt were expelled towards other Mediterranean lands and did not evolve into any Arab people, but disappeared as distinguishable groups in Roman times. Those dwelling in Canaan were defeated by King David and reduced to insignificance, the best warriors among them were chosen as David's bodyguard. The remaining Philistines still dwelling in Gaza were subdued by Sargon II of Assyria and after that time, they disappeared definitively from history. They are no longer mentioned since the return of the Jewish exiles from Babylon.
Conclusion: there is not one single person in the world who may be able to prove Philistine lineage, yet, if Palestinians insist, they have to recognize themselves as invaders in Israel, and then they must ask Greece to return them back the Isle of Crete! The Philistines are extinct and claims to alleged links with them are utterly false as they are historically impossible to establish. In any case, claiming a Philistine heritage is idle because it cannot legitimate any land in which they were foreign occupants and not native dwellers. Philistines were not Arabs, and the only feature in common between both peoples is that in Israel they should be regarded as invaders, Philistines from the sea and Arabs from the wilderness. They do not want Jerusalem because it is their city, which is not and never has been, they simply want to take her from the Jews, to whom she has belonged for three thousand years. The Philistines wanted to take from Israelites the Holy Ark of the Covenant, modern so-called Palestinians want to take from them the Holy City of the Covenant.

The Palestinians: No, they are not any ancient people, but claim to be. They were born in a single day, after a war that lasted six days in 1967 c.e. If they were true Canaanites, they would speak Hebrew and demand from Syria to give them back their occupied homeland in Lebanon, but they are not. If they were Philistines, they would claim back the Isle of Crete from Greece and would recognize that they have nothing to do with the Land of Israel, and would ask excuses to Israel for having stolen the Ark of the Covenant.
