"Judge orders Bovino to appear in court every weekday to report on immigration enforcement

The Border Patrol chief must himself wear a body camera and turn over all agents’ use of force reports by Friday, the judge added.

CHICAGO — U.S. Border Patrol chief Gregory Bovino, who appeared in federal court on Tuesday sporting his trademark dark green uniform and crew cut, seems likely to become a regular presence there.

U.S. District Court judge Sara Ellis ordered Bovino, the Border Patrol sector chief overseeing the agency’s operations in Chicago and previously in Los Angeles, to appear in federal court each weekday at 6 p.m. to report on daily immigration operations. She also ordered that he turn over all agents’ use of force reports from Sept. 2 through Oct. 25, as well as the bodycam footage corresponding to those reports, by Friday.

The exchange highlights the mounting tensions between immigration officials and residents across the Chicago area, particularly after Bovino and immigration agents were captured on video and in photos deploying chemical agents in numerous residential neighborhoods. Attorneys argued the actions were in violation of Ellis’ temporary restraining order issued on Oct. 6 which said immigration authorities must curb the use of tear gas and chemical agents when they are not under threat, especially where the general public could be affected.

In that order Ellis also instructed immigration agents to wear — and turn on — their body cameras."

The Democrats' judicial resistance continues. This is insane harassment of the executive branch.

Who brought the lawsuit?

I'm not sure she has the authority to require a Federal Agent to appear like a dutiful slave.

But I do wonder why she is after that information? Is it part of discovery, and if so, why is she doing it?

This is judicial harassment

Is the judge trying to how much stupid bullshit she can get away with?

trump needs to step in

Its just simple harassment
Well, she needs some legal foundation to base her decisions on. I'm sure those here who have worked in the court systems can attest to that.

To collude with the plaintiffs to produce evidence for future lawsuits.
Possibly. I'm just not that familiar with court presence.

If this is some form of discovery, which almost always occurs between plaintiff and defendant, is she stepping in as a representative of the plaintiff? Is she demanding it on behalf of the defense? I don't even know why she is involved any further than an order each side to exchange information.

15th post
6 pm? He's likely off duty so he should show up in shorts and a t-shirt. ;)
I've seen this tactic used before. Next, one of her judicial cronies will order him to report some other frivolous BS at exactly the same time across town under the threat of a contempt charge. He will not be able to make both so he will be subject to a contempt charge in one or the other. Typical democrat lawfare BS.

Yeah, none of that’s going to happen.
