Clueless is a better word. The Left live in a hermetically sealed bubble world.

There is now a photograph that sums up everything wrong about America’s broken and overwhelmed immigration system. You’ve seen it, and it is hard to let it leave the mind or the conscience. Together with the accounts of horrifying abuse of children in detention — and “abuse” is not hyperbole — we can see the crisis as it is. We can no longer look away.

The starkness of the crisis is a good thing, though. Until now, many have denied that any crisis existed at all. They have, in fact, denied that the highest levels of mass immigration since the Bush years are an issue at all. As Byron York has noted, Speaker Pelosi called the arrival of close to a million asylum seekers “a fake crisis”; Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said that hundreds of thousands of men, women, and many children, overwhelming any attempt to process them with the current resources, was “a crisis that does not exist.” This included many Never-Trumpers, like Bill Kristol (“a fake crisis”), and Max Boot (“a faux crisis”). The editors of the Washington Post denied the facts reported by their own Nick Miroff, claiming it was “a make-believe crisis.”

None of these people will admit they were gravely mistaken, or that their denial and delay in acting clearly exacerbated the situation. But now that we’re on the same page, the question is: Where do we go with this now?

Yesterday was a sign of real bipartisan progress. The House passed a Senate bill to spend $4.6 billion to relieve the humanitarian crisis and tackle some of the structural inadequacies of the current failed system. The left wing of the Democratic caucus wanted to insist on various restrictions on the use of the $4.6 billion, primarily to ensure that none of it is earmarked (God forbid) for enforcement of the law.

The left can't afford for Republicans to be right about immigration. It's one of their main rallying cries. The optics of walking that one back would probably destroy them.

Trump said that Mexico is stepping up and turning away the migrants before the US border.
Its soon the hot summer season and the migrant rush should stop for a few months.
With the $4.6b in emergency funding, the current load of migrants should be processed without incident.
Trump's threat to Mexico to stop the migrants or face tariffs worked beautifully, June's thru August's numbers should drop significantly
That red line looks like a crisis to me.

"There is no immigration crisis"

"There is an immigration crisis"

"There indeed is an immigration crisis, but it's only because we don't have an open border, and because we don't provide the immigrants with free health care"

No border = no border crisis. Simple solutions for simple people.

They are definitely in a bubble. The other part is that it financially benefits their backers.

Open borders is the dream for rich internationalists, and those types of people own both parties.

It’s the dream of the LEFT and DEEP STATE who’s only goal is the destruction of Western Civilization.

Most of the Republican party is owned and controlled by the deep state. Both parties need to be destroyed.

I’ll buy that.

Please don't confuse the Never-Trumper GOP with the Populist GOP.
IMHO the populists, including Trump, are doing all of the things we would do if we were elected president.

The democrats are going off the deep end. Biden is an old school union democrat, and the rest are like AOC. Bernie is a socialist and he has a fervent following.
Biden is facing a moment like Reagan faced. Reagan concluded, "I did not leave the democrat party, the democrat party left me."
Lets hope that 2020 will be a landslide for Trump.

I certainly make an exception for Mr. Trump. Only a fool thinks he's a status quo politician.

I will add however that the populists on the left are not status quo politicians either, and even though you hate their message they are healthier for our nation than their deep state counterparts (Hillary Clinton) simply because they actually reflect the will of their constituents. We need people on both sides that will not be controlled by the status quo.

The Democratic Party wanted to be first. So, there is no deep state. It's pretty out in the open for both parties.

One could argue how the border crisis madness began in earnest and rapidly worsened simply due to Democrat hatred of D. Trump. But such an explanation excludes the ideological fervor of the ever more self-radicalizing American leftwing, and leaves out the Democratic Party's lust for absolute power, which in reality is the same old Marxist push for domination of America and the construction of their final bridge to ultimate Utopia. See, the communists didn't really go anywhere as so many fools like to bloviate about; rather, the communists became postmodernists who have rather recently became climate change fascists, racial Marxists, SJW's, feminist Marxists and the PC thought control police. Open border sentiments are nothing more or less than the expression of Marxism in yet another sub-form, a form similar to all the others whose ultimate goal is to topple and destroy American Civilization and all associated individual freedoms, religious beliefs, historic and traditional culture and replace known reality with a radically altered and newly defined one which shall the opposite of all we know, trust, love and believe in.

There is maintaining the status quo, and there is total insanity. My only bitch about the GOP is their tax cut for the top tax rate and the $900b deficit.
The corporate cut was needed to keep companies here. I'm all for the "transaction tax" and even a VAT if that's what it takes to balance the budget.

The democrats OTOH have these insane policies. Please consider what any of these policies would do to the deficit and Debt.

1. Open borders, tear down the southern border fence/wall
2. Sanctuary cities & states
3. Free college
4. Single Payer Healthcare, aka rationed healthcare, "Medicare for all" [destroys all hospitals]
5. Eliminate ICE and DHS, turn the US into the EU, with muslim "no go zones"
6. Promote Globalism, whatever Wall Street wants Wall Street gets, see K-Street Cash
7. Paris Climate Change Treaty where the US pays $trillions to poor countries
8. Stupid trade agreements, e.g tax breaks to move factories overseas
9. Let China run roughshod over the US for trade and intellectual property
10. Let NK develop nukes and ICBM delivery systems, have no one capable of dealing with NK
11. Raise taxes to 70% on the wealthy, especially on corporations so they relocate overseas
12. Opioid problem running rampant across the US
13. Gangs like MS-13 running rampant across the US
14. No steel or mining industries due to foreign "dumping" of subsidized products
15. No new pipelines
16. No offshore drilling
17. The dems' "Central Committee" appoints super-delegates to subvert real voters in primaries
18. Pack the US Supreme Court to promote liberal policies
19. Impeach anyone they deem not liberal enough, like Kavanaugh
20. Use the Federal Government to punish conservatives, like the IRS and Lois Lerner hounded conservatives
21. Use the Intel community to spy on the opposition party, like Hillary, FusionGPS, and the FBI/DOJ spied on Trump
22. Block voter ID laws to ensure fraud, and promote "vote harvesting" to steal elections
23. Refuse to provide funding for border walls/security, which DHS says is desperately needed.
24. Give $Trillions to Mexico and Central America for a Marshal Plan, but not help US citizens living in tent cities
25. Impose gun control, outlaw private gun sales, outlaw AR style rifles, restrict sales of bullets, etc.
26. "Green New Deal" Impose a "carbon tax" to punish anyone who works, heats their home, flies, or has a car
27. Anti-business democrat socialists caused Amazon to flee NYC taking 25,000 good paying jobs to VA
28. REPARATIONS to blacks to pay for slavery, $trillions owed by US voters
29. Promote or excuse the murder of newborns, i.e. "infanticide"
30. Change the Electoral College to popular vote
31. All prisoners get to vote, even the Boston Marathon Bomber, so says Bernie
32. LGBTQ rights, trannys in military
33. Hunt down white supremacists, increase domestic surveillance
34. Add Senators and congressmen for DC and Puerto Rico

No penalty for illegals breaking our laws and flooding across the border by the 100's of thousands. Free healthcare when they arrive paid for by American taxpayers. Free food, lodging, school. Poor blacks in Chicago and Baltimore can only dream of what Dem's are promising illegals.

The democrats OTOH have these insane policies.

Those people are here though. They exist and they aren't going anywhere. It's better if their candidates are true populists that give a clear view of what it is they are asking for rather than shady double-speaking scumbags like Hillary.
