University of Virginia Spends $20 Million On 235 DEI Employees, With Some Making $587,340 Per Year
It takes tuition payments from nearly 1,000 undergraduates just to pay their base salaries!

Here is the DEI situation at one school - one founded by Thomas Jefferson, no less - where racial, gender, and ethnic discrimination are heralded as more valuable than teaching the so-called "Classics." To any rational observer it is a disgrace.
It might be taken with a small grain of salt for the following reason: Some of these positions are held together with other conventional administrative duties. A DEI administrator might be working as a student counselor or Department Head, and if the DEI position were eliminated, they would still be on the payroll with an arguably useful job description.
The USSC recently ruled that such discrimination was unconstitutional when done by a State agency or one funded largely by the State. I have written here and elsewhere that the colleges will continue doing the same things as they have been but call it something else, just as they did when "affirmative action" as outlawed and they transitioned to "diversity."
One might hope that Virginia's excellent Governor has this appalling situation on his figurative radar screen.
