Media speculation about the Democrat Party's candidate for President, Joe Biden, selection of a Vice-president running mates seems to be offering only lousy alternatives; choices that will be a drag on his appeal to independents and not a great help to assist him in governing to the center if he wins. Susan Rice bright experienced woman but lacks the moral depth, doesn't seem to be a strong person of conscience to be President. Valerie Jarrett not likeable enough to be VP, a President Biden has a really daunting "to do list" he should pick a really likeable VP so the VP can help sell items on that list and Ms. Jarrett would be perceived by the public as too left wing to be President and the litmus test for any VP selection must be can he or she be the big P so says the American public. Similarly, Senator Elizabeth Warren doesn't pass the "can be President" test has too many far out ideas wants to dismantle the JP Morgans, Bank of America, Citi Bank and other big Banks - these banks are a key support column of our economy they can and do back stop key businesses and sectors nothing else America does or would have can fulfill their role; plus Senator Warrens a big champion of Medicare for all the price tag of that program will truly collapse the economy. Senator Kamala Harris has everything to be a great VP except a spine, on issue after issue choosing the policy position that is politically expedient isn't the make-up of a President or Vice-President it's the make-up of a long term member of Congress who is culpable up to their chin for America's dysfunctional toxic political system; Senator Harris's bent toward politically pandering was shown crystal clearly during the Kavanaugh Supreme Court confirmation hearings she explicitly identified the core on why Mr. Kavanaugh should not have been confirmed that his appellate cases revealed that he was not only an activist Judge which should have been disqualifying by any bipartisan standard but his cases revealed he was worse "he was partisan" but then Senator Harris instead of proving the case which she could have easily done she used her time for political grandstanding with junk like did you have some conversation with some politically connected lawyer about the job and things like that. Senator Tammy Duckworth doesn't have the gravitas, the stature to be selected VP for a standing U.S. Senator such as she is you would think she would be a leading voice in Congress to take on the key role for the Party that the VP role entails, I bet you most Americans if they saw a picture of her wouldn't even know who she is!
Vice-President Biden should broaden his selection consideration for VP. Consider women not on the media's radar, consider women in the private sector, accomplished top executives even one's that have no political experience. How about Obama's former Attorney General Loretta Lynch, smart and grounded, not wacky! The criteria that Joe should be using is the person should be smart and can sell and is center left. Unlike the normal challenges for a Democrat President which are to try to sell moderates on policy initiatives a President Biden is going to have the additional challenge of trying to sell liberal Democrats to not ruin America unless the Democrats only want to have two years in power in Washington. For instance, if a President Biden really cares about America there is a lot that can be done on Police reform but the current Democrat bill is a King Kong size disaster in waiting doing away with "qualified immunity for police officers" why don't Democrats just pass a law that says we don't want good, caring people that have wisdom that believe in protecting one's family from financial calamity to be cops! At minimum a President Biden is going to raise individual taxes on the top income brackets and raise corporate taxes and spend a lot of money improving the Affordable Care Act, the negative political wake on the Democrats from these things are going to be huge you pile on that a lot of extreme left wing policies and the Democrats are doomed. Vice-President Biden needs a Vice-President that can sell or persuade and can provide him valuable help to keep the Democrat Party on the path to improve things for their constituents but not wreck parts of the country or Democrat Party improvements will be short lived!
