That is sick. I do not see anything "angelic" in George W. Bush. I just see a man that has a grip on life and that isn't sitting around trying to figure out what to do. Like him or not, he sticks to his guns. Unlike some "wafflers" and outright liars that we all know currently dominate the Democratic Party. Don't blame conservatism, go on a fucking retreat and "get in touch with your 'true' self" and realize the bullshit lives you are living.

The religious right... what scary sons of bitches. My sister went to school in Colorado Springs, CO and there were people there with huge crosses on their front lawns and stuff... kinda weird.

I guess that would be kind of like me putting a gigantic marijuana leaf on my front lawn. Sort of inappropriate.

Colorado is a BIG TIME pot haven, so that is mistake number one.

Colorado Springs is home to the Air Force Academy AND Ft. Carson, which is home to the 7th IN Division. So it is possible that those crosses are in yards signifying one of many possible events. Perhaps they indicate soldiers from the homes that are deployed or, perhaps they indicated homes that have lost soldiers.

Does she know why they were in the yards, or are you both just assuming because it fits your stereotype of those from the heartland?

-- I'll ask her. I think it just fit in with her impression of some of the people she came across at work or in the neighborhood. She speaks several languages-english, spanish, italian, frnch and a bit of dutch-- and LOVES travellign and meeting new people. Apparently, however, these fanatic born-agains she repeatedly came across made quite an impression.

Since CO is made up primarily of the military, then those statements about their "fanaticism" must apply to our soldiers. If that is the case, if you support the troops, you are supporting those "fanatics". Is that a scary thought to you? Ahem, I am part of the religious right (abortion was what first made me turn my back on the Democratic party. Y'all mighta had me if not for that, but it's just gotten worse since), and I don't enjoy the stereotyping. I don't need to wear crosses and Jesus fish everywhere I go. I just let my actions speak for themselves. I don't hold a reverence for Bush either. I have respect for him and his office, especially since he sticks to his guns, popular or not. I have some statements by Bush where he says he's speaking for God or some other such nonsense, and was offended, but I see very few of those on reputable news sites, so I'm inclined to disbelieve the majority of them.
