When you only allow the people to vote for elected representatives who then vote on the actual issues, that is technically not a democracy but a representative republic.

the reason I express the constitution so much is the progressives in both parties are actively trying to discount or dismiss that theres a constitution that restricts their actions,,I think, by definition, a republic is representative.

youre so fucking brain dead you dont realize you just explained why a bigger SCOTUS wont work,,,The Constitution is a useful means of incorporating "blind justice", where the rule of law is determined ahead of time and is therefore more likely to be neutral.
But a constitution can be deliberately corrupt and no better than common law, depending.
And a constitution can also be ignored, like federal firearms laws, the federal war on drugs, federal health care mandates, etc.
