The Hebrew Calendar goes by the moon because it guarantee each holiday will occur the same time of the year.
Blood libels and specially the Passover blood libel became popular during the Inquisition days to our times internationally.

If I remember correctly----one of the ways of alluding to "idolatry" in Hebrew is
avodah kochavim (????) sorta translatable as "worship of the stars"
The Zoroastrians were into stars-----the original astronomers----however all
ancient peoples were also into astronomy---but the Zoroastrians had a REP.
I think that the avodah kochavim thing was a reaction AGAINST the
Zoroastrians (as a reminder---"la la we three kings of orient are.....etc etc
etc etc following yonder star..., la la" probably alludes to Zoroastrians) Historically,
despite cyrus (darius?) jews and Zoroastrians did have some tension over religion

muslims got into the moon-----as arabs probably were BEFORE the rapist pig was born
and they got into ANOTHER FORM OF ""avodah kochavim" << idolatry ----this
time focused on a rapist pig
