Pffft...."Fair trade" is right up there with "free trade" as just another disingenuous moniker for centrally planned trade. That's why it's called "Free Trade" and not "Fair Trade".
As always, you are full of shit. Free trade requires that you obey the "Law of Comparative Advantage."Pffft...."Fair trade" is right up there with "free trade" as just another disingenuous moniker for centrally planned trade. That's why it's called "Free Trade" and not "Fair Trade".
True free trade doesn't need wheelbarrows full of documents, enticements and penalties...All it requires is people being left free to trade with one another.

Obviously the never heard of the "Law of Comparative Advantage." Try googling it.Piss off, child.
The point is that free trade isn't a bad thing.
since you think free trade is such a bad thing, why don't we allow states to impose tariffs on gods produced in other states? Why shouldn't New York impose a tariff on orange juice from Florida or on wine from California? Why shouldn't Florida impose a tariff on automobiles manufactured in other states? Think of all the jobs Florida could generate building cars and all the jobs New York could generate growing oranges in greenhouses.

And yet this country is NOT producing what it does most efficiently and trading for the rest as the Law of Comparative Advantage says. How can anyone expect free trade to work when this country does not follow the Law of Comparative advantage? As always, you are full of shit. That's like saying that falling off a cliff requires that you obey the law of gravity.
It's not optional, nitwit.

Thank you for proving that you know nothing about the Law of Comparative Advantage. What the fuck are you blabbering about, child?
Sure, you know about it NOW that I explained it to you.I know about it and it needs no legislation or treaties to enforce, it any more than you need them to make certain the laws of gravity or the division of labor work.
IOW, you're just a blabbering child.

Here's a moron who still doesn't understand the Law even after it's been explained. And yet this country is NOT producing what it does most efficiently and trading for the rest as the Law of Comparative Advantage says. That's like saying that falling off a cliff requires that you obey the law of gravity.

That isn't what the law of comparative advantage says.

Like I already said, numskull, you cannot not follow the law of comparative advantage anymore than you cannot follow the law of gravity. The law says a nation benefits when it produces those broods at which it has the greatest advantage relative to other countries. it's like saying you will die if you eat a sufficient quantity of Potassium Cyanide. That doesn't mean no one sever going to eat potassium cyanide.
Purely from curiosity, just what do you think the US should be producing?
I knew about it because its a macro extrapolation of the division of labor....Another economic law that needs no legislation or treaties for it to operate.Sure, you know about it NOW that I explained it to you.I know about it and it needs no legislation or treaties to enforce, it any more than you need them to make certain the laws of gravity or the division of labor work.
