The Big Freeze

Major winter storm hitting most of the USA today and tomorrow and through most of this week.

I currently live in the deep South....I used to live in Idaho....had frostbite so many times that I never wanted to go back....ever. I live in the south by choice.

But now winter is chasing me....I might need to go south of the equator for this one.
How are you planning to keep warm for the deep freeze? Extra blankets? Extra backup fuel? Fireplace? Coal burning or wood?

Its cold here in TN. Coldest day so far this Winter.
Supposed to get snow on Friday.

It's my sixth year without snow.
I don't have to plow a 600 foot driveway and freeze my butt off doing it.
I don't mind the temperature right now, it's a rainy day at 39 degrees F.

it's currently 9 degrees in Wichita KS.

That's about 40 degrees under our normal high for this time of year.

We had enough snow yesterday to cover the ground. It was unbearable......well until I remembered I used to live near Pittsburgh where we had snows that lasted weeks with highs below freezing and lows sometimes below zero at which point I wish I had put on shorts and flip flops and played in yesterday's dusting.

As long as I am inside.... close to a big fireplace, good food and things that make you happy.
