That Troubling Expansion of Capitol Police Gets Even Worse With Tech They Plan to Use

11 Jul 2021 ~~ By Nick Arama
We previously reported on the troubling expansion of satellite offices of the Capitol Police being planned across the country.
Unlike other federal government-related police which are subject to FOIA and part of the executive branch, the Capitol Police are under the control of Congress and not subject to FOIA. So, basically you have a police force controlled by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spreading out across the country.
I’m not a conspiracy fan, but you don’t have to be to find that problematic.
Now, there’s more that is setting off the alarm bells in my head.
Not only will they be setting up across the country, starting first with offices in California and Florida, but they will have military surveillance equipment as they become “an intelligence based protective agency,” according to the Washington Times.
Defense Secretary Loyd (sic) Austin recently approved the Capitol Police’s request for eight Persistent Surveillance Systems Ground – Medium (PSSG-M) units. The system provides high-definition surveillance video and is enabled with night vision. The system does not include facial recognition capabilities, according to the Pentagon.
“This technology will be integrated with existing USCP camera infrastructure, providing greater high definition surveillance capacity to meet steady-state mission requirements and help identify emerging threats,” the Pentagon said.
The technology, originally used by the U.S. troops during the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, allows the user to monitor large areas 24/7 through extremely high-resolution cameras.
Oh, no problem there either.
More?
In a wartime application, the persistent surveillance units were mounted on tethered blimps. The data could be stored, combined with sensor data from other platforms, and later referenced or rewound to track individuals or groups.
It could be used by the military to develop a “pattern of life” analysis on suspected enemy combatants or intelligence targets in war zones.
The Army is going to teach the Capitol Police how to use the technology.

So, what’s going on here? And why is there so little coverage of this? Because whether you’re on the right or the left, this should concern both sides of the aisle.

Comment:
A most troubling report by Redstate as regards expansion of the wholly unaccountable Capitol Police into the States has solidified my concern that the law enforcement and intelligence agencies of the US Government are now being weaponized against ordinary American citizens for purely political purposes.
We must consider, as sad as it may be in America, that the Capitol Riot is being used as the pretext for a full police state action against the Biden Administration's and Marxist Congressional Democrats' political opposition and that all methods, legal or otherwise, will be used against us. This includes the use of wiretapping, Stingrays, domestic data collection and distribution by NSA, geotracking and whatever other methodologies they see fit. Does anyone really doubt, given the lawless actions of federal LEO and intelligence agencies over the past few years, that they are incapable of being even more felonious than the Capitol Riot suspects they now pursue without relent?
But don't take my word for it. Ask Marilyn Hueper, Joe Bolanos, Tucker Carlson, or anyone that has been held without bond or even charge for months in DC jails in association with January 6th.
On that note, please consider the following.
1. Assume that all of your phone and social media platform communications, metadata, emails, and even personal movements may be monitored by the FBI and DoJ in coordination with the Biden NSC, legally or otherwise.
2. Assume that if you do know someone who was or is a person of interest in reaction to the Capitol riot, that any communications you have with that person come under the auspices of a "roving wiretap" and that you and anyone you contact may now be surveilled independently as a person of interest, legally or otherwise.
3. Beware of agents provocateurs who befriend and commiserate with you online via email or social media platforms and try to push your righteous political anger and indignation into the realm of violence.
4. Trust no one you don't already know very well when it comes to discussing these contentious issues. Don't let anyone stoke your anger to the point you unlawfully threaten political or other violence.
There's a burgeoning Progressive Marxist/DSA fascist totalitarian police state much like the former STASI in which the full brunt of federal law enforcement and intelligence agencies are being brought to bear against whole swaths of Americans for political reasons only. I am hoping this matter can be settled via elections the next three years, and that these rats' nests of traitors to the American people and all we stand for will be publicly shamed and driven out via another Church Committee.

Politicizing the Capitol Police

A police force answerable to no one but Congress is getting the go-ahead to expand its operations beyond the Capitol.
12 Jul 2021 ~~ By Arnold Ahlert
A curious thing happened last week. After a bloody 4th of July weekend during which 104 people were shot and 19 were killed, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot asked President Joe Biden to send federal troops to her city. This is the same Lori Lightfoot who rejected Trump’s offer of same, and the one who apparently dismisses the idea that Illinois Governor J. B. Pritzker, a fellow Democrat, could send the National Guard to her aid. In short, Lightfoot appears to be advocating for the nationalization of local law enforcement. She’s not alone. Last Tuesday the Capitol Police (USCP) announced it would be opening field offices in California and Florida to investigate threats against members of Congress, using the riot that took place on January 6 as a rationale for doing so.
“It has been six months since rioters attacked the United States Capitol and our brave police officers and law enforcement partners who fought valiantly to protect elected leaders and the democratic process,” Acting USCP Chief Yogananda Pittman said in a statement.
Make that some officers. As too few American are aware, videos taken by people at the Capitol show some USCP officers ushering protesters toward the building and others allowing them to enter.

“The Department has significant concerns with the release of any of its footage to defendants in the Capitol attack cases unless there are safeguards in place to prevent its copying and dissemination,” Thomas DiBiase, the Capitol Police Department’s general counsel, wrote on March 17. “Our concern is that providing unfettered access to hours of extremely sensitive information to defendants who already have shown a desire to interfere with the democratic process will … [be] passed on to those who might wish to attack the Capitol again.”
USCP’s desire to protect Congress from those who “interfere with the democratic process” rings exceedingly hollow. As Sperry points out, the USCP had more than 700 complaints lodged against its officers between 2017 and 2019, “but brass won’t say what the alleged violations were or how the department resolved them. They also won’t disclose how many complaints are in any individual officer’s file.”
Moreover, unlike other police forces around the nation, the USCP is not required to disclose records on police misconduct. And in stark contrast to other government agencies, the force’s inspector general is also not required to make his reports public.

Jonathan M. Smith, executive director of the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, expressed his concern. “They operate not only on the Capitol grounds but they have a cooperation agreement with the city that permits them to make arrests off the Capitol grounds,” Smith said. “For them to be an agency operating in the District without the same kind of transparency that the District government has is really not a good thing, and Congress should address it and fix it.”
And when they operate far beyond the boundaries of the district? Every sentient American knows state and local law enforcement officers are fully capable of protecting their congressional representatives.
Thus, this is all about an unconscionable expansion of federal power. After four years of Democrats and their media allies routinely warning us Donald Trump was a constitutional threat to the republic, a police force answerable to no one but Congress, even if it kills someone, is getting the go-ahead to expand its operations — nationwide.
The GOP? Evil prospers when cowards stay silent. With apologies to Shakespeare, here’s your choice, Republicans:
To be — or KGB.

Comment:
Yet, nay sayers claim it's all about protecting Congress people....
"Practices that would include the creation of a national DOJ-maintained police misconduct registry that would be made public, and require state and local law enforcement agencies to report use of force data divided by race, sex, disability, religion, and age — remain mute about holding the USPC to any similar standard." Hmm, quite racist I'd say...

It's funny to read this. Just last week I had to show Homeland security how to get on the roof of the hotel I work at and open the roof access for them. They installed some kind of relay dish on the roof and a single rack computer in a locked cabinet in a closet right below it.

Struck me as odd to put surveillance equipment on a hotel roof in a area that's nowhere special really.

Support the police.

That's as thoughtless and mindless of a knee jerk reaction comment as just blindly running around saying black lives matter.

It showed you didn't actually read or consider anything, you skimmed a headline and pinched off some over used catchphrase.

For some reason none of this concerns me... oh yeah, that must be because I'm not a traitor intending to attempt insurrection against the Capitol! Yes, I participate in our democratic system by being an activist and VOTING, legally Constitutionally approved activities.

RepubliQans, on the other hand, today are nothing but brownshirts.

Oh look, the Xiden admin. is capitalizing on the "resurrection" they helped stage, what a surprise.
You repeat insurrectionist lies, making you a traitor. Yes, that is very clear, you are a traitor, and therefore should not be in the country, or should be in prison, preferably Gitmo.

True statement. But given our current situation, the best we can do is support our LOCAL police every way we can.
But for God's sakes, absolutely NO NATIONAL POLICE force of any kind.
Sure, the Capitol should simply be left open and vulnerable to any pack of thug traitors who decide they'd rather have a dictatorship than a democracy.

You traitors are going to be having to deal with a lot more than just Police, incel boy!

America's new version of the Geheime StaatsPolizei. These criminal scum are in full tyrant mode now.
The criminal scum in this country are all who support Trump, as you are supporting fascist insurrection, which is treason.

You'd love to have no Police at all at the Capitol so you could run in and rape the better-looking Congresswomen, in emulation of your boy Trumpolini the Orange Pervert, but that ain't happening, you arrested-adolescent punk thug incel bitch.
