Texas Mass Shootings Up 62.5 Percent Since Permitless Carry Bill

Actually, by the numbers, more whites own guns than blacks but whites use guns for crime far less

According ro science this would mean guns are not the issue...

That only stands to reason. A study reveals that 33% of black males are convicted felons meaning they are not legally allowed to be in possession of a firearm.

Estimates reflect racial disparities in felony convictions during era of mass incarceration.

New research led by a University of Georgia sociologist on the growth in the scope and scale of felony convictions finds that, as of 2010, 3 percent of the total U.S. population and 15 percent of the African-American male population have served time in prison. People with felony convictions more broadly account for 8 percent of the overall population and 33 percent of the African-American male population.

Given the last three riots since 2010, it's quite possible that percentage is even higher today.

That's one thing, but the point I was making was in reference to how Democrats profit from high crime. They don't profit monetarily, they profit from power. Keeping high crime gives them that power. The higher the crime, the more victims they create.

As for blacks, ask a black man how he votes, he will tell you Democrat. Ask him why, and he will tell you Republicans are for the rich white guys and Democrats are for the working poor. Ask who told him that, and he will tell you the Democrat party.

Politics is not followed by a lot of people, even a much less percentage in the black community. They know nothing about it. All they know is my father voted Democrat, my grandfather voted Democrat, so I vote Democrat. They have no idea why.

So like I said, as bad as crime is in these Democrat cities, in spite of the most racist candidate in our lifetime running for President, they overwhelmingly voted for Biden. Why? Because like I said, most blacks have no interest in politics. The ones that do or get educated in politics risk being called an Uncle Tom by switching over to the Republican party.
Yea, cause, you know dem people just dumb.

And just what the democrats want.....they run the schools in the cities they control and they refuse to esucate the children in those schools.....

The democrat party has so much blood on its hands they will mever be able to
wash it away
Yea, cause, you know dem people just dumb.

Hmmm....dumb, no....trapped by the democrats...yes.

The democrats have controlled some of these cities for decades, some for over 100 years.....and the schools the democrats control will not educate these children...creating generational crime....which creates generational poverty.....

And so far, blacks keep voting for the democrats....at a minimum, they should start their own political party and destroy the democrats for what they have done

It has nothing to do with it really. Let me bring you into America, mentally:

Criminals will always get guns no matter what laws or restrictions we make. It can't be stopped.
All disarming law abiding citizens would do is give us a society where only the criminals and police have guns.
Police are only good after a crime is committed. Until they show up, you're on your own to protect yourself.
Home invasions still happen here in spite of our guns. Locking them up makes them completely useless for self-defense.

This is what life is in America today.

If guns were the problem, why is it middle-class white suburbs are completely safe from most violent crime where inner-city black areas are so dangerous? After all, in both areas, people own guns. If guns were the problem, those suburbs would be just as dangerous as the black inner-cities, correct?

The answer to that question is simple: guns don't make the difference, it's the people that make the difference. Guns don't cause people to be criminals, criminals use guns to carry out their illegal actions.
Criminals to the gun debate is the same as rape is to abortions. The percentage is tiny. I know gun nuts like yourself wants to make that topic important, same as Lefties crying about rape abortions. Both are insignificant stats to both debates.

Also, some criminals buy the guns legally, some through a 3rd party that passes background checks, and others through unscrupulous means. A banned driving licence does not stop a car being driven, but you still comply to road regs and laws. And to get out of this simple logic, your mouth can only froth, "2nd Amendment".

Criminals get their guns off the street that are stolen and yes, straw buyers. But a person convicted of straw buying can spend a couple of years in prison so there are not that many of them.

But even if that were not the case, like drugs, they would obtain them from out of country just like they do drugs. Now there is a concern of ghost guns. Those are made by 3-D printers and have no possible way to trace them.

All there has to be is a market for something and people will figure out how to get the product. Law abiding citizens won't but criminals will, hence the society of where only the criminals and police have guns. That's not a society I want to live in.

So as long as criminals will always have guns, the only chance a law abiding citizen has in a violent attack is to also have guns.

Yea, cause, you know dem people just dumb.

It sure seems that way, doesn't it? I mean you have this guy in the White House now and he was very overt on what he stood for: disarming Americans, destroying suburbs, opening the border and stopping the wall, drastically increasing our fuel costs. So tell me, how many smart people would vote for that?

Then look at Uncle Festerman, a guy who is clearly incapable of doing the job. What did he stand for? Setting up safe spaces for druggies to shoot up illegal narcotics. Emptying out prisons even violent offenders. The man can't understand what you're even saying unless he sees it in writing on paper or a computer screen.

I can't say that being dumb is the problem, but without a doubt, being politically ignorant is.

Criminals to guns, you being a victim from all of your enemies, and rape to abortion is a tiny percentage.

When you fly off on vacation, why not take a parachute in case the plane malfunctions in midair.

Texas Mass Shootings Up 62.5 Percent Since Permitless Carry Bill

Just over a year ago, Governor Greg Abbott signed a law making it legal for anyone in Texas over the age of 21 to openly carry a gun in public without a permit or license. Since then, the number of mass shootings has risen 62.5 percent.

From June 13, 2020, to June 13, 2021, when Abbott signed the permitless carry law, Texas had 40 mass shootings. In that same time period from 2021 to 2022, the number of mass shootings rose to 65. The numbers were compiled using the databases from the Stanford University MSA Data Project, the Mass Shooting Tracker, Vox’s Gun Violence Archives, Mother Jones, The Washington Post, the FBI, and the Congressional Research Service. All incidences met at least two definitions of a mass shooting.

The math is even more damning when taking the number of victims into account. In the one-year period before the bill was signed, 187 people were killed or injured in mass shootings in Texas. In the one-year-after period, it was 375 people killed or injured, a 100 percent increase. Even if the 40 people killed or injured in the Robb Elementary School Massacre are excluded, the increase is 79 percent, an enormous jump in bloodshed.

When the bill was signed, Texas Democrats predicted that the law would likely increase gun violence.

“The permitless carry bill will cause more violence and loss,” U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-El Paso) said in a statement at the time. “Despite overwhelming support for common-sense gun violence prevention legislation like universal background checks, Texas Republicans, led by a cowardly governor, are more interested in groveling for the gun lobby’s attention than they are in preventing gun violence and honoring victims and survivors in El Paso and across Texas.”

That grim prediction has come true.

These numbers do not even take into account shootings of less than four people. Totals for all gun violence tend to lag behind mass shootings as they get less press coverage, and the numbers from last year are still not widely available from sources yet, let alone for 2022 so far. ABC 13 recently stated that since the bill had been passed, shooting deaths in the state were up 5 percent, with injuries being up 3 percent.
So they are taking themselves out. So be it...

No.....you dope.....criminals make up over 95% of gun crime.....you idiots have this myth in your heads that gun murder and crime is normal people having a bad day....and that is just stupid bullshit.

Criminals do not buy the guns legally, they can't, you clod......they use straw buyers, people who can pass any background check, or they steal the guns.....

You have no logic.....you are an idiot who doesn't understand even the most basic aspects of this debate...

And how do they define “mass shootings”? Oh yea, all the gang bangers and cartels shooting each other up. Biden’s border is the problem along with all the minorities.

I'm a retired professional tractor-trailer driver. I've never had an accident in my entire career charged to me. Oh, I've been hit before, but always the fault of the other party. Same with my car.

But you know, I still carry auto insurance. I never used it in the past and it's unlikely I'll ever use it in the future. Same with my house insurance. Same with locking my doors when I leave my home or when I go to sleep at night.

Carrying a gun is an insurance policy. You have it hoping never to use it, but if you do need it, you'll be glad it's there.

When I see these multiple stories of Americans getting attacked like in NYC, I can only think of the outcome if the victim(s) had a gun. But like you, people think "what's the chances of that happening to me?" Then when it does, they are defenseless.
