We are entering into that part of the academic year when a bunch of standardized tests are scheduled, seemingly one after the other. Now it is important to evaluate student progress in a uniform manner that can be useful in grade to grade, cohort to cohort, and year to year analysis and comparison, but this time of year makes it pretty tough to keep making headway in the curricula. This is especially challenging this year when we are trying to make up for all the learning lost during the pandemic.

I would make calculus proficiency a minimum to graduate

I bet it's especially challenging when you're fucking off posting here all day, rather than doing your job.
Anything to say about the topic, troll?

yes Unkotare

what are we really testing?

the child's ability to learn

or the educational system's ability to teach?

How students have or have not progressed in identified areas over a given period of time.

Talked to a fifth grade teacher the other day. What a nightmare. Last year they passed the struggling third graders into fourth grade. The fourth graders didn't learn shit at all last year. So now she's stuck with what are essentially second/third graders in her fifth grade class.
