Temu just raised their prices overnight by like 45%.

Back in the days when the US was importing much more than exporting with China. Back when China focused tariffs on US Agricultural products and ramped up intellectual property theft.

I think you are confused. The Chinese didn't ramp up tariffs on US Agricultural products until Trump ramped them up on CHinese goods. Then Trump had to give pork and soy farmers a big bailout in 2020 to make up for their lost revenue. The Chinese just found other suppliers.

Just came from the temu website and the prices are up even more now. Almost everything they list is from their local warehouses here in america. Very little is available from china now. Tells me there are big problems over there!

Okay.

We want products.
They make products.
We want those products to be affordable.
They make those products at an affordable price.

If we aren't selling China as much as we buy from them, that's our fault, not theirs.
Joe you want slave labor. That’s sick

Actually trump got China to make historic sat purchases from us

Russia is disgusted with Timu as well..

I had a bunch of things in my cart. A bike tire went from $18.50 to $25. Two pairs of insoles went from 1.60 to 2.80. An elbow sleeve from 2.50 to 3.66. Happened overnight! Trump needs to stop playing nice with china. Make them remove their tariffs and we'll remove ours. I suggest he kick out the 300,000 chinese citizens in our colleges. They're all spies anyway.
Yeah, the same with Aliexpress. I ordered a couple items which added to about $15.

When I went to checkout, the price skyrocketed to $47, and a text box explained that was the cost of Trump's tariffs.

Why do you ignore reality? Is it part of your cult that says you have to?

That was one state.

MEANWHILE IN THE REAL WORLD>>>>>>>

Government payments to farmers have surged to historic levels under President Donald Trump as the Agriculture Department floods the industry with cash to stem the financial losses from Trump’s tariff fights and the coronavirus pandemic.

Direct farm aid has climbed each year of Trump’s presidency, from $11.5 billion in 2017 to more than $32 billion this year — an all-time high, with potentially far more funding still to come in 2020, amounting to about two-thirds of the cost of the entire Department of Housing and Urban Development and more than the Agriculture Department’s $24 billion discretionary budget, according to a POLITICO analysis. But lawmakers have taken a largely hands-off approach, letting the department decide who gets the money and how much.

The spending surge began in mid-2018 when USDA started writing checks to farmers and ranchers to pay for the damage from Trump’s trade war, which brought about higher tariffs that crushed agricultural exports and commodity prices. Farm sales to China plummeted from $19.5 billion in 2017 to just $9 billion the next year; as producers continued to hemorrhage profits in 2019, farm bankruptcies jumped nearly 20 percent last year.

Haha clearly you didn’t read the ljnk, you ignorant dembot

No it wasn’t one state

Temu just made it official. They are now shipping NOTHING from china. Their website only sells from warehouses here in america.!! They will likely run out of stuff in a few weeks and temu will then shut down.

I have bot a lot from temu last 2 years. Quality on the low side but prices WERE extremely low like $1.20 for a bike side mirror or bike tire pump. Bike crank puller for $3! 45 inch shoelaces at 80 cents a pair. Small binoculars at $5.50. 40 watt folding solar panel for $14. Cordless electric drill for $16 (had to pay 3 bucks for shipping so that made it $19). 50 piece 3/8 inch socket set for 30 bucks. Except for the drill, everything was free shipping. Great deals.

Yup that is part of the "fucking up the ass." Joe couldn't give a shit that his neighbor got laid off becasue the factory closed, so long as he can buy his dozen tube socks for $3.00, because they are made by seven year olds that are paid 3 cents an hour while their factories spew 100 times the CO2 into the air then our factories do.
Is that why Trump had his stuff made in China...because he cared about American workers?

No, China has been supplying us with cheap crap because their people work for peanuts which delights the shit out of Mr Businessman here in America.
True, China would mean nothing if American businessmen and women hadn’t moved their production over there. But somehow we don’t blame them...we blame the politicians.

A bunch of things in your cart?
So it isn't bad enough for you to fill your cart with Chinese shit and buy from an American company like Amazon - you are willing to fill your cart with Chinese shit and buy from a Chinese company and ghosting American products and companies.

I see

Assumes there would be somewhere else to buy.

Hey, try to find an American-made TV. Okay, there are some off brand that do... Now try to find an American Made TV that isn't made with foreign components.

There are plenty of other places to buy other than China. That is the point of high tariffs on that Communist regime. China will come to their senses because they MUST, otherwise risk losing the US consumer to the US based businesses and other countries in the world that are more than willing to negotiate to gain access to our very wealthy consumer base.

You realize that's a practical impossibility, right?

Even if it is the more commonly accepted number of 11 million, at current rates, we'll never get them all out.

Trump claims to have deported 139,000, but the actual number is probably 57,000. In three months. Or about 19,000 a month.

At that rate, it will take 48 years to deport them all. That assumes no more make it into the country.

Right, and that was exactly why the previous administration let so many in. They knew it would be very difficult to get rid of them. Democrats wanted them in the country. They had no desire to control the border. None. We tried to tell you all this, but you fell for the nonsense spewed by the Biden regime.

Okay, serious discussion time.

Is the purpose of tariffs to create American jobs, or is the purpose to punish China for being China?

It would seem to me that if it was the former, all you are doing is getting countries to move their manufacturing to other countries, which they were already doing because Chinese labor is already too expensive compared to Vietnam or Malaysia.

If the purpose is to punish China, then you should give me a better reason than, "We don't like their form of government!"

The End of the Day, it's rich Americans making that decision to move manufacturing overseas, not the Chinese.

Blaming people of color for what rich white people are doing to you. It's the Republican Way!!!!
