Hypothetically, say a future president from either party comes into office and appoints people to do his bidding, legal or not. So, for the next 4 years these people do all sorts of stuff that may or may not be illegal but possibly could be morally and politically suspect. Then at the close of his/her term in office he pardons all of them from future investigations and charges. Is anyone kinda disturbed about that? I know I am, where's the deterrence from law-breaking then?
If Biden issues a multitude of pardons then what we have here is a complete and destructive admission that the system of justice in this country is uh, rigged in favor of the people in power. Let's be honest here, to some extent that has always been true, but not at the level that Biden might do. Could Nixon have pardoned all those involved in Watergate? Who is okay with that? Not me. IOW, accountability would go right out the window.

And he was indicted for creating illegal fake electors and inciting a coup.
That's why Trump ran for office. To avoid being tried and convicted.

1. Did you do something illegal? Should such a person receive a pardon?

2. Did you do something that was probably illegal but can't be proven in court? Should such a person receive a pardon?

3. Did you do something that was legal but possibly unethical or immoral? Should such a person receive a pardon?
My answer: NO
4. If your answer to all of the above is no, then what is your problem? So what if Trump goes after you, what's he going to find? And BTW that is exactly what Biden did to Trump while Trump was in office. Life's a bitch when the other side does to you what you did to them. Our justice system ought to be unbiased, but I think we all know that it isn't and if Biden issues a slew of pardons before he leaves office to a whole bunch of people that did his bidding, then we have proof of the weaponization of the DOJ.
5. I suspect any such blanket pardons including the one to Hunter is going to be challenged in court as to how far a president's power to pardon somebody can be stretched. The problem with that is that the time it takes to work it's way through the court system allows the accused more time to bury the evidence. And as time passes it begins to look like a witch hunt. Politically that could hurt the GOP in 2026 and beyond.
Justice should not be influenced by money, power, and politics. Probably it always was, but these days it has risen to a much higher level.

Except Biden didn't do that. He appointed an independent counsel to investigate Trump's crimes.
He could have just assigned them to career prosecutors at the DOJ. Would have gotten Trump in front of a jury a lot faster.
