He had one of the longest records in the congress, surely people know more about him than just chapaquidick?

he had only one nephew tried for rape.

he only drove one wife to alcoholism through his serial infidelity.

he only had one nephew who committed statutory rape on his babysitter.

despite being drunk most of his adult life, he only drove off one bridge.

truly, he was a man of singular accomplishment.

Found this on another site:

"The last victim of that terrible auto accident off the Chappaquidick bridge finally succumbed to injuries, but what a valiant battle."

So in all of those years he spent in the senate you can name one bill that you hated and why?

Only tabloid fodder

Weird every time I post in this thread it gets remarked "old"

OJ Simpson broke the alltime rushing record; He was a Heisamn Trophy winner from USC. He carried the Bills for many years. He was an actor. He was a Hertz Spokesman.

All he is remembered for were the murders of his ex wife and her friend....murders he was not convicted for.

That should answer your question.

I dont see any mention of his record so no it doesnt answer the question

There it is again , everytime I post in this thread it gets marked old, very wierd glitch

I am a mjor football fan, but once Simpson was connected to the murders, I lost interest in his "record"

In my eyes, Kennedy got away with murder...not literally....manslaughter is more appropriate...so he could have had an ideology identical to mine, and I would have no interest in his record.

However...to answer your question.....Kennedy, as a publiuc servant, was a dedicated public servant whose claim to fame was his constant desire for healthcare reform....and although he did not acheive success thanks to obnstructionists on both sides of the aisle, he never let it go...and rightfully so. It is a shame he will not be part of the debate.

I do not know much about his voting record, but I must assume it was more along party lines....strictly based on his ideology...but that is an educated guess.

As for his partisanship....he was well liked by many republicans...some being his best friends when off the hill.

Thats the best I have to offer.

He's Patient Zero in why Senate Confirmation hearing are so bitter and strict Party line affairs.

His absurd, disgusting savaging of Robert Bork was the first shot and is why Senate Confirmations with 90+ votes will be as rare as seeing supernovas with the naked eye

That's and his love of Socialism (for everyone else, of course) is his legacy

What he did to Bork was dispicable.

Sotomayor had reason to be treated that way...and she wasn't.

His long support of civil rights for all was a huge part of his legacy.

he only had one nephew who put a teenaged girl in a wheelchair for life through his reckless driving.

If your nephew robbs a store Im sure you would want to be held responsible for it too.
