CALHOUN CITY, Miss. (Gray News) - A teacher in Mississippi is no longer employed after giving students what she thought was beef jerky but was actually beef treats for dogs, WTVA reported.

Dr. Lisa Langford, the superintendent of the Calhoun County School District, told WTVA eight children at the school had at least a bite of the treats during a birthday celebration for a few students.

One of the students did go to the doctor with a stomachache, according to WTVA.

The superintendent credited the school nurse for her quick response after learning what happened.

WTVA reports the school district alerted the parents of the children who had consumed the dog treats about what occurred.

School officials did not release the name of the teacher but, according to WTVA, said she’s no longer with the district.

Termination seems excessive but they might have been those special dog treats made in China, with authentic rat meat, extra propylene glycol, and some human fingers from the grinding machine accident a few days ago. ;)

The poodle has pupperoni treats that look and smell just like Slim Jims.
Yeah, the packaging also looks a lot like human food too.....I've seen the dog jerky in the human section before.

I suspect it was placed there by mistake.

I could easily see someone who forgot their eyeglasses confusing them.

Did they sit first? This is more comical than anything.

Same thing happened to Ralph Kramden on the Honeymooners when he served his boss dog food

Why are we producing food for our pets that we cannot eat?
Since my wife started down the road to Dementia I've caught her eating our catfood almost every day.
I put out some kibbles for my cats and the plate disappears.
Some seniors used to eat catfood to be able to afford their medicine, but now petfood has gotten too expensive.
And don't even bring up the cost of cat-litter.

I have seen them and ''dog cookies'' in the human food area as well. In convenient stores.

Is there much difference in the meat scraps used in dog food than that which are used in SPAM or bologna?

I gave my son Milkbones when he was little. I got some salt free dog food for my dog. It was delicious. I didn't even give it to the dog.

Its not cleaned in any way they just grind it up and stick into a dog food can and a-lot like Twin Pet brand is horse meat.
Horse meat can be pretty good!
