Even some of the teachers who voted for Obama were talking about this. They agree too much money is being spent, with no checks on any of it.

Chicago is to 'get' $2b for its schools, but it looks like they will have to lay off teachers anyways, as they haven't a clue when they will get it or what rules will be attached. The teachers need to be notified by the end of the month, if they are not being hired back. Thus they will get riffed.

I think some of us should get together and picket these "protests". Something on the order of "Why do you people think you deserve a free ride?".

Not only that, all of you use the items that the infrastructure created by government has provided us. But you do not want to pay for any of it. Well, that'll be for you to decide. If it becomes blindingly clear to *you* (regardless of whatever spin is out there) that the tax plan helps get America working, AND you pay less in taxes, will you support it?

I can hardly see how I'm going to pay less taxes. But, regardless of that, if the following is true, I would support it:

1) it does not fundamentally undermine the basic institutions of the US
2) rampant inflation does not occur
3) and the tax plan passes the sniff test that it will, at some point result in a balanced budget

All of that assumes that we manage, as you say to "get America working" which I will further define as above a 4% annual growth rate in GDP.

If that means we're all socialists, then, being in DC, I'll just make sure I'm in good with the party.
