But her celebration of the team's title didn't last long: Last week she was hospitalized with the coronavirus despite being vaccinated in March, according to reports.
Her husband, Jimmie Kirksey Jr., said she had tested positive for the delta variant and was doing better on Thursday morning.

Bryson-Kirksey, 54, has battled multiple sclerosis for years and has other underlying health conditions that make her more susceptible to the virus.

The initial problem can't be those who did not get vaccinated because there was vaccine for the first year.
So then the initial problem has to be "flattening the curve" and preventing herd immunity.
If we had instead accelerated herd immunity with deliberate infection of the young/healthy, then the epidemic would have been gone and eradicated last March.

The death rate has remained only about 30k/month, so its death rate is lower than seasonal flu, per month.
The only reason the total is so high is that we won't let it end.
To end there has to be no more easy local hosts.
And flattening the curve conserves easy local hosts.

The vaccine is not the solution since the vaccinated are also getting infected as easily as those without the vax.
